I was pulling into a gas station and the guy behind me apparently took his eyes off the road (or sleeping, it was 1am) and plowed into my driver side . The dick told the cops that i cut him off from the right lane, such bs, i was hit when I was already in the gas station making his claim impossible, in addition i could never had made the kind of turn i made from the right lane (check picture). I had experience with Jersey cops being from NY and i know for a fact they will make the police report in his favor. The guy working at the gas station couldnt speak English, nor did the police want to hear from him, but from his hand gestures he "said" i was in the left lane and did nothing illegal, but again the cops didn't even get out of their car to talk to anyone, just took a written statement and then back in the car.

So far had the car 6 months and had both right doors, hood and front bumper painted. this makes 3 more parts and the wheel. Have to take it to the shop to make sure its just body damage because he did hit the wheel.

Maybe cops where you are now aren't as big of dicks as NJ cops. They are the worst.

Getting out of the Holland Tunnel, on the left side at the Shell station.

Not really, just badly scratched. I will definitely need it replaced.

This just really sucks and made me get extremely pissed off. Its making me consider not doing anything else to my car...just in a pissed off depressed sort of mood.

Get the gas station attendant's name and contact information and find out if the gas station has security cameras. Give the information to your insurance when you file your claim. They should investigate it and find you not at fault regardless of what the police report says.

Tried, same thing happened to a friend of mine when someone slashed his tires at a U-Haul parking. The corporation does not want to be a part of it. It was the first thing I did today, and got transfered 50 times and on hold for 5 hours (frustrated exaggeration) and ended up with the same answer.

That sucks. Maybe your independent witness statement will be enough for your insurance company to assign liability. Can you deal directly with the gas station instead of the corporation? My son had someone hit and run his parked car. He spoke with the manager of the business (Quiznos) and he was able to see the tape. Unfortunately, the angle was such that you could not get the license plate number off the vehicle that hit him.

It might depend on what the police report says. If they were negligent and didn't even question you and get out of their car much, you might have a complaint. Tell your insurance the story, and maybe they will go after the other guy's insurance since they won't want to pay for both of the cars.

Hey steve, nice to have met you on Saturday. Sorry to hear about another accident man. You've had some really bad luck with the Audi.

Yea I know about my bad luck, since the whole left side is getting painted it will make about 4 parts of my car that will still have factory paint and I had the car less than 6 months.

I've been away for a while because of the accident. The car is in the shop, estimate came to $3,800 and the work started already. All work was under his insurance, apparently he went straight on a left only lane, thats why he hit me, and in the police report he stated it himself. So I lucked out in that aspect.

I got really messed up from the accident though, my back was really injured and I am getting treatment for a pinched nerve thats causing my toes to be numb all the time, but its getting better.

It sucks getting hit at like 30mph (thats what he said, I am sure it was more though) when you car is almost completely at a stop (5mph). I went back a couple days ago and you can clearly see the skid marks of my back tires as my car was pushed.
