Does anyone know who sells 3" exhaust for 97 1.8t?

Thanks, Adam

I'm not sure of a manufacturer who sells a 3" Might be easier to go custom, but why would you want 3" anyway. Overkill for anything less than a GT28RS. Even then, not sure you'd need that much flow.

It would be pretty pointless unless you are doing a major turbo upgrade, otherwise it might even hurt performance. I'd go no bigger than 2.75.

Go guy a borla or neuspeed muffler then make a custom exhaust. Thats they way to go. It will be cheaper

Depends on the shop...you need to find one that has a mandrel bender.

i would say it is definite overkill for anything under
a stgIII, not gt28rs..
i was hesitant at first but going from 2.5 or whatever the NS set up is, made a really nice difference on mine. opened it up, i was definitely restricted before and i didnt lose any low end torque goin up to a 3"..
if you really want to do it, you have to go custom but i wouldnt suggest like all the other replies here unless you are above a k04.

I based my thoughts on MKGIY's system, where they could have gone 3" but decided not to.

Dude - 3" exhaust is best suited to a large displacement or heavily modified motor. All engines require a certain amount of back pressure in order to perform at top effeciency. Putting that big a system on your car would definitely hurt performance. You are much better off with a 2.25" system...

With any type of turbos used on the 1.8T engine you really should not over exceed exhaust diameter of 2.75"

Even a 2.75" may be large for a T-28 or GT28RS.
Optimal for that vehicle is really 2.5"

Can you say, I hate my turbo soooo much I'm gonna destroy it????

Too large an exhaust can allow a turbo to overspeed and eat itself.

Want a three inch exhaust??? Buy a Subaru. If you destroy that engine, no-one will care.
