Is the oem sport a4 suspension lower than the stock s4 suspension? or are they the same...and am I assuming right that the s4 shocks are better?
TIA

your right, The s4 suspension is better, but if you put it on your a4 the nose will sit high because the springs are made to support an 8 cyl. I learnt first hand. Your best bet would be to use the s4 shocks with some aftermarket a4 springs [up]

If you park a stock S4 next to a stock sport 1.8t then you'll find that the S4 is 1/4 - 1/2" taller in the front. The rears should be close to the same height.

If you put the springs from an S4 on a 1.8t or 2.8 it will be higher than the stock S4 which is already higher than stock 1.8t sport.

The S4 and A4 dampers are interchangeable. I ran 1.8t A4 sports, then the same springs with S4 dampers, then another set of A4 sports. These were mostly winter suspensions but also did some summer and track driving. The last set was on more than a year. If anything the S4 dampers are slightly tighter feeling but it isn't enough to worry about.
