so my old turbo is blown and the mechanic has just ordered one used k03 for me and he got it today.
when he was inspecting the turbo it looked to me that the housing had some kind of oil but he said it's gonna be fine since the shaft is fine. another mechanic disagree. i just wonder if it's normal to have all those oil in the housing. i worry if they are just gonna put that thing in problems will occur again.

also, if a turbo is blown, will it cause any problem to the engine if the car keeps on running? or damage other parts in the system? thanks a lot for all your help and advice!

As long as the compressor wheel doesn't come in contact witht he compressor housing you should be fine.

Where's the oil leak look like it's from? If it's inside the housings it can really only come from the seals. Outside, on the bearing housing/CHRA could be a from a loose connection.

If he's putting on used parts that he ordered, and they fail. It's his responsibility. Unless you told him to do it, then it's a no warranty thing.
