Hey guys, i'm new to this site...and well, I just purchased my 08 a4 2.0t MT last Saturday. YES!!! Anyway, I have been looking around and I am interested in the Forge DV but I have also seen the GMG DV. Does anyone have any input on the latter? Thanks guys! Pro's and Con's welcome. [:)]
It sounds like AWE is going to come out with a good one - I would wait for that. The Forge is not that great and I don't know anything about the GMG.

Forge DV's are great units, but do require maintenance. I like mine and love knowing I don't have to worry about tearing a stock DV while holding 22psi :).
The maintenance is very minimal and recommended. It simply consists of taking it apart every 10,000 miles to inspect the rubber o-rings and lube the piston with new oil.

The GMG dv is for a 1.8T engine on the b5 and b6 model.

hahaha....no, i am not chipped yet. but I am researching everthing and getting the stuff that I need. hahaha....my bad. should I just say i want a BOV and get the flaming over with? hahahahahha. I dont' just want to hear some noise when I shift. I just want the honest to goodness advice. =) I am looking at the MTM and APR chips because of some of the bad stuff I was reading on the revo and giac stuff but still not sure on what to get. =T none the less, thanks to everyone in advance.
***edit*** i haven't done any research on this yet BUT, would some suggest just going straight to stage 2/3 on my upgrades? I haven't looked into what other parts I would need in order to support this but just wondering what you all think. thanks!

AWE is coming out with the own DV to be released with their BT kit. Read the post AWE started on their BT kit and you will see a DV it part of it. Pay attention! [:D]

I did a write-up on the Forge DV last year:

So you're telling him to buy a DV not even released, and telling him a proven forge product is "not that good"? [rolleyes]

There was a thread not too long ago about the design of the forge valve. Make note that I did not say to buy the AWE DV - go re-read my original post "it sounds like AWE is going to come out with a good one". Translation - AWE is going to make a DV and it MAY be good. I'm going to wait until the AWE comes out to take a look at it. It is coming out any day - why not look at a possible better alternative? You did not even know AWE was making one. It is designed to handle a BT kit. Unrelated to this car but related your "proven product" statement - for years all the B6 S4 guys thought the Milltek DPs were great until they all started failing. Are you going to follow all the other lemmings off the cliff?

Have you ever used a forge product? No? then shut the hell up. It's people like you that makes the B7 forum the way it is. Talking about shit you have no experience with because you read a post somewhere on the internet about it.

Nice attitude. [=(] FYI, I DID have a Forge DV. Who is making the B7 forum the way it is? I'll let other people decide who had the more intelligent thought out posts.

if i were you, id spend my money on the chip and exhaust etc. and not worry about the dv until you need it as the stock dv is covered under warranty. if you want sound then just add a k and n cone filter and it sounds just like a bov- i highly recommend it.
