With the growing amount of BT guys out there without cats and with CEL, just wondering what you guys do come emissions time for your state? (i know all states are different) Do you put some parts back to stock? Dry gas? what? TIA

are you elimi? if so i can see putting the stock cat back on being easy, but what about the guys with diff. manifolds, turbos (3071,2871 etc)

I'm wondering the same thing you are. At least for cali upgrades. (i'm assuming go stock again for a week for smog) or if you have a sm0g hook up. $$

couple options... Get your tuner (whoever it may be like Uni or CTapp ect..) to write you a file to delete the TP code you get and every other code for shit you removed haha, and hope the inspection station isn't anal. Although you will still most likely fail when they take the readings form your exhaust.

Or go to a gas station, clear your codes right before you go in, and throw em $50, most places that I have experience with will pass you as long as it is not a visual problem like tint and your CEL is not on and the car is not ridiculously loud..

Lets just say it's really helpful to have an inspection license. [race]

you will fail based on the fact that your ecu is not in "ready mode" after you clear those codes. You have to drive your car a certain way and have a lot of turning on/off, and your ecu will be in ready mode) fact.

get a buddy with an inspector's license and throw him some cash. i got someone in nyc that does it for 50bucks. Doesn't matter what cel or tint or exhaust you got. they have ways to get around all of it.

what i use to do when i had a civic was just go to a gas station and pay em some cash. works all the time.

True. I reset my CEL for a lean condition last year before inspection and they caught it. I ended up going back 3 times before it passed. Had to get about 300 miles on the car without the CEL coming back on before it would pass. Different diagnostic tests are run each time you drive the car and sometimes it goes by key cycles (that's how it was explained to me.)

if you have vag com and know the propper procedure for our cars you can force the car to perform readiness tests

it will perform the tests, but it won't pass them if they wouldn't pass normally...

I throw some toutline or zyline (from your local paint/ ACE store) in on a small tank (like 4 gallons/ 1gallon of that crap).

Its alcohol and doesnt register through their sensors.

I passed with flying colors on a bad cat that gave me a CEL right after I had the emissions test..

An option I had tempted myself with was getting a larger Dia cat, gutting it, cut it in half, slide it over your pipe, weld it on... Fake cat! And pass the emissions with the alcohol trick.

what i did on my TP is put spark arrestors on the back O2 sensor. it keeps it out of the stream and no CEL ( well some times) it codes once every 2 months. there is a DIY on here some were.
