2004 A6 S-line trunk not locking :(

[evilsmile][evilmad]Alright.. so yesterday walking my dog.. i just came up to my car.. and checked wether my trunk was locked or not.. so i walk up.. and press the buttom, and the trunk pops open and the alarm goes off! I am like wtf!

So.. i go inside, get the remote, and lock the car, go to the back of the car, press the trunk button on top of license plate, and the trunk pops open again![evilmad]

Tried this about 20 times... no luck[down]

then.. I also realized that the opening trunk button on my remote doesnt open the trunk...

That really got me mad.... any advice??!!

Try using your key to lock it, it might be in the unlocked position.

Are you sure that's possible to do with the key?

Frank had the same issue with his at Waterfest on Sunday. We would lock his central locking and then try to lift the trunk handle and the trunk opened and set off the alarm.

Strangely, he said that it worked earilier in the day for him. I'm completely baffled as to why it would stop. I'd also be very surprised if Audi made it possible to make the trunk always unlocked just by using the key.

I doubt it will stay unlocked, try toggling the key back and forth to see if anything happens, the locking mechanism could have gotten stuck.

well.. if i put the key inside the key hole on the trunk and turn it to the right... it locks. The if i unlock the car via the remote, it unlocks, but doesn't lock.. also like i said the trunk release button on the remote doesnt do anything...

Brett , how funny is this, yeah man my trunk wont lock either and i don't know why, i have been locking it with the key, any ideas Brett or anyone else?
Oh and i have a 2004 S-Line alos, very wierd. hey maybe its that time of the month for 2004 S-Lines


OMG ITS FIXED!!!! ok so last night i locked it with the key, and since i you guys said it could work by using the key, so i just checked and now it works with the buttons the way it should, SOOOOO WIERD!!!

I have the same car, and I did the same thing. Needless to say, I thought I had lock problems, too. I t was going in for service anyways, and the service guy was as baffled as I was. It's a werid thing, and when you think about how often you actually stick the key in the trunk, it's no surprise that you can't figure out what the hell is going on. I was pissed, because I had my laptop and camera in my trunk.

well.. as of 5 mins ago.. seems like it fixed itself... lol

Now i do hear a sound of something floppin around in there like a peice of plastic.. idk.. I'm gonna take it apart.. and see what's happening.
