Hey guys,

Anyone tried to make a mod like this? I know the space will be small but if used with a smaller cone and trim the inside of the airbox and maybe a bracket too and it could work right?

oops sorry about the title... i just woke up :D

K&N Sheet filter FTW. You would be creating a werid ass air flow.

People have stuck cone filters in OEM airboxes for years, if you want to then go for it, easier just to drop in a new filter though.... dont listen to the "creating weird ass airflow" comment above, thats BS.

if you're looking for a cheap way to get the whoosh sound, do the swiss cheese mod.

cuz I don't like going cheap. If I'm going to do it, I'm gonna do it right the first time.

The airbox is actually pretty good, but drop in K&N filter would be better. Airbox will prevent hot air to be sucked in, this used to be a very good upgrade over 10 years ago at the street races, made a difference in our little 1.8 and 2liter 16v motors with advanced timing.

Seems to me that putting a round filter in a square intake path doesnt make the most sense. But I guess thats based on pure theory and logical thought process.

I would think that air coming into the stock box would create turbulence before being sucked into the cone filter because of the dead space (Vaccum) of the empty air box.

Could be wrong though.
