is it feasible to get 18" snow tires? Turns out i might be getting my hands on a set of 18s and am wondering if this is advisable at all, or am i just asking for trouble? please advise. thanks!

You can use a 235/40-18 snows with out any issues. But for snow, it would be better to use a 205/60-16.

Even swap? Your 18" RS4's w/summer tires for my 17" Lola's w/Pirelli PZeroNero M&S tires.

If so, can I get a ride with you or Dawn up to Tahoe?

Ha ha ha. [:D]

For the occasional Tahoe run M+S rated tires on 18"s should be adequate. If you are in the snow all winter like all the poor saps out east and north I would use 16"s. I use conti extreme contacts on 18" rims for my TT on Mammoth trips. In California the amount of time we acctually drive on snow is very limited. In 25 days of skiing last year, I only drove on snow three times, and two of those were in Colorado.

cool. and of those 2 times driving in snow, how did your 18s hold up? was it just like driving on a rainy day, or was it worse?

The three times were not in the TT. Every time I went up in the TT the road were pretty clear. It did fine in the few patches of snow here and there.

question, do S4 Brakes on a B6 clear the stock 16s?
