Installed a H&R coilover system on my 99 1.8t A4 about 6 weeks ago, tried unsuccessfully to get my alignment done. The mechanic told me I have to raise my fronts 1/2 inch for the alignment to be completed. He also told me my front suspension is leaning to one side . . . /_/ /_/.
Is it right that I can't have my camber adjusted? Will I need camber plates? [confused]
I imagine I can just jack my car back up and loosen then retighten the retaining bolts? Does this sound right? [confused]
The guys at Wheel Works said they do alignments on performance suspensions all the time and recommend that I make sure the ride height is even. Right now I have a 1 1/2 inch drop in front and a 1 inch drop in back. Cost is about $120.
I'm riding on 225/45/17 Michelin pilot XGT H4's that are now pretty much eaten up. I'd like to stay with Michelins but am afraid the cost would be too great. Wheel Works has p nero-zeros for about $150 per tire balanced and installed. Any recommendation for other high quality tires at comparible prices?
