I'm just getting to know my PC 7424, and have polished 5 panels of my black B6 S4 with very good, but not perfect results. First with Menzerna SIP on an Orange pad, then PO85RD on white.

I'm still not positive when the polish has fully broken down.[confused] The first 2 passes, the polish is still cloudy on the surface, but by the 3rd or 4th pass it looks more clear - almost like the a greasy layer on the surface.

I've worked a panel for several minutes on speed 5 (3-4 passes) then 6 (3-5 passes), and the polish never seems to go "clear" like has been described here: http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...ad.php?t=63859

How do you know when the polish is properly broken down? Any other tips for a PC noob?

TIA[up]

PC's take a while to get working so yeah it's supposed to turn almost clear. It should be about 90% transparent then i stop polishing

if you're starting... make sure you have some good lighting. This will help a lot. Try to work with some spot lights and always see against the light.

Check out the vids on Detailers Domain...they have some good techniques to avoid hazing.
