I just turned in my 18x8 BBS RX in All-Chrome to Wheel Techniques in Campbell and they are going to refinish and powercoat them in black, leaving the lip its natural chrome, all at $135.00/wheel. So that equates to $540.00. I just want to know if this is a rip off compared to what some of you guys paid, or is this price in the median range.
Feedback greatly appreciated.

seems to be a bit high...are they bead blasting or media blasting the center section. Powdercoating down here runs bout $80 a wheel.

i had my factory powdercoated speedlines stripped and coated gloss black for 50 bucks per wheel. the center caps cost me 5 bucks each. the finish is amazing and has held up for a couple years of abuse.

can you post some pics of your wheels when they are done. Id lik to see the finished product. also does that price include repairing any curb rash or would that be extra?

Well, I have to see the final job before I can get an opinion for you; the reason is that I have refinish three of my wheels at three different places with different prices and level of workmanship and thus far I'd have to say I got what I pay for in most cases.
If your rim is two piece and having have to take off the center piece and repaint might cost more. With the web like BBS spoke it might make the job a lot harder thus increasing cost. So like I say, it's not an easyjob with BBS design so have to see their other work to determine. If they can get near factory finish, I'd pay that money if they can also refinish the lips for me as well.

For a really well done job I would say that price isn't too far off. I've seen from $80 - $150.

It's been over a month since I have had the wheels on and so far, I LOVE the new look of the car with them on. The car was also lowered with KW V1 coilovers at the same time wheels were put on.
The only complaint about the wheels- flaking in the inside of the wheels (probably due to the fact that they are originally all-chrome). If they start to flake outside, then I will take them back to refinish (1 year warranty). I tried to take a close up shot of the flaking.
Also I would recommend Wheel Techniques for their work but NOT for their customer service. They will ALWAYS be late for anything, as my wheels were over a week late and it was a PITA to call everyday after the due date to see if they're done.

They do look good, but I'd worry about that flaking.
