STFU you can afford to do all the work on your car, but can't spend 85.00 on shoes specific for driving[confused] Christ they're cheaper than a pair of just about every other shoe, sneaker with the exception of "keds" and "vans"[:D]

Buck up buy a Pair[>_>]

[>_<] lol

im a tad bit in the hole at the moment from my audi [;)] i really only own two pairs of shoes A) my work boots and B) my wrestling shoes for driving... if i could actually afford the fee for a day at limerock (hopefully by the end of summer) i will buy a pair... but for now the wrestling shoes work great [up]

Yea, $85 isn't bad. I've been wearing skate shoes since, well I started skateboarding. Those bastards are always in the price range, sometimes higher.

Question is.. How much do they weigh?
And I laughed at the "SCCA approved shoe"

I have 2 sets of piloti shoes and love them both, got 1 set free at the 1.8t challenge.[:D]

I am looking to buy a new set but the car comes first.

If they are NOT in pink I am game.[;)] Actually I have had my eye on a set of driving shoes for my son, but his feet are growing so fast it would be a waste of money. He is already wearing a size 6.5 and is almost out growing those and they are less then 2 months old.

For the last few years I just wear a very old worn pair of running shoes when I race the car.

I've always drag raced w/ whatever shoe I was wearing until I wore some really low-pro puma indoor soccer shoes. Now I really see how much of a difference good shoes make. the difference must be even greater on a road course.

Difference is even greater on a road course. I only wear no tread flat sole sneaks when spirited driving or on the track. You'd be surprised how well Johnston and Murphy dress shoes do at 7:00 am, they're amost as good as my Pumas due to no tread and the leather sole:)

I have had a pair for over a year now. Gift from my wife, so they were free, sort of. Highly, HIGHLY recommend them. The rolled heal of the Piloti is excellent (Great if your cruise control is out) and they look cool too. Still can not heal toe in them very well with size 12.5 shoe's.

What kind of performance gains can I expect with an automatic transmission?
