No, 2.7 and 2.8 are two different engines, you need a grinder and a good welder to swap the whole front clips...

With S4's being affordable now, why not just buy one?

SSP tuning does the swaps, w/ everything working like it should, choice of A4 or S4 cluster. Contact Greg - > http://www.ssptuning.com/main.php?vag=c/contactus

sweet, then you can be slower than a k04/pc-16 1.8t...

my buddy had a supercharged A4. trust me, they aren't fast. he now drives an S4

The supercharger is a great start but it has its limits. No intercooler so when the summer hits heat soak will suck. in the winter you can get away with running a smaller pulley, but do so at your own risk. Check scaudi.com lots of info. If you enjoy the sc as much as i have then you will be wanting to do the swap as well.

As far as i know you dont need the tranny and diff to do the swap. THe 5 speed is a good tranny especially if you are going to track the car.

good luck

the long gears of the 2.8 tranny = not a good track setup

don't the only make a S/C for the 30v not the 12v.

if have the 12v you are SOL

2.8 gears are good for highway driving, the gears are much longer

Both 12 and 30V motors have supercharger kits.

The PES G1 for the 12V, side mounted.
The PES G2 for the 30V, plenum mounted.

^umm. no... not on this side of the pond anyways..

besides. PES only made like 8 G1 units. so you're pretty much SOL to get it anyways

Siena is correct. The early G1 is the one you can add an intercooler to.

To the original poster,
get an S4. The insurance is almost the same. After you add up everything for the parts, your labor (worth anything?), paid labor, time lost, and frustration you'll be far behind just switching cars and writing an insurance check. Going through all that hassle to save on insurance makes as much sense as sitting on the tv and watching the couch or selling your car for gas money.

not everyone whats to sell em specially when they are stg3, but i think he is already looking to mod it him self so i beleive he wants a stock s4 which is not that easy to find either.

that wasn't the point. i know what the G1 is. there is a member on these boards that has a G1 w/FMIC. speed-somthing, i forget..

but you do know how many G1 supercharger units there are in existance right? and i don't believe they are for the 12v
