[headbang][headbang][headbang]just got rear ended by this lady in a Jetta this morning while driving my gf to sko.... reason why i think they shud make a law that forbids women from driving during the day time. anyways here are some pictures i took for my rear bumper. I donno if i should get a new bumper or not. there is a slight dent or crack from the first picture. other than that are just small paint scratches. its not as huge, but an accident is an accident. anyways i also need some recs for good reliable bodyshops in San Diego as i go to UCSD and its almost Finals week[=(][=(][=(]

They could probably fix that...But year, if you replace it, get something cool. THey're all about the same price anyway.

i had the same thing happen to me. the bumper cover runs in the $500 range which is probably all you need. best estimate i had with a new cover was just under $1k. if the accident is filed with the lady's insurance they may want you to fix the bumper. i went through geico and they sent me a shop near by that had a geico office and enterprise located in the same place. seemed convenient but then geico went the cheap route of fixing the cover rather than replacing it. the first paint job was awful so i had them re-paint. it still doesn't look like it did. if you can make sure you get your own estimates. best of luck.

Call the police, go to the Hospital with "major neck and back pain", get a good attorney.

Sit back, collect some cash and get an R8.

Have a nice day!

As I recall a new bumper with paint and labor will run around $2K. I hope you got that b****'s insurance.

The bottom line is, it all comes down to what the body shop wants to do. Most will say, just repaint the bumper. Nevertheless, a full inspection of the bumper stops and frame should be conducted to determine whether or not the whole bumper should be replaced.

DTM bumpers can be purchased from a dealer or a reputable body shop. If you do get the DTM rear, without the front and sides, its going to look funny IMHO.

Dont tell other ppl, this stuff is supposed to stay on the down low...[:D]

Find someone you know that can get the bumper painted cheap. One of my friends dad's is painting my 2 doors, hood and front bumper for $800. Search and don't rush in painting.

This sucks but at least it's just some marks on the bumper. I doubt your insurance will fund a new bumper as it's not necessary. That can be fixed with filler and paint. Should cost no more than $500 to $700 max. That said, you may want to make the case that a new DTM bumper only costs ~$500...who knows, maybe they'll go for it. If they turn you down, offer to pay the difference if you really want the DTM.

Sorry to hear about your little mishap bro...
If you don't mind driving a couple of hours up north to the Pasadena area, I would highly recommend Marco's Auto Body. They have numerous locations (mainly L.A. county) including South Pasadena and in San Gabriel, etc.. These guys are backed by a couple of BMW dealers at the time when they were operating with only one shop (San Gabriel), since then they have grown and expanded. Their work is extraordinary, I mean they are amazing and they'll make your car look literally like new again - I mean like factory new!

Check out the Before and After photos!

That can be repaired if you want it to. It needs a little work, not just a re-spray though. It will cost at least $300, probably more like $400 for a complete fix if it's just the finish that is ruined.

Shitty!!!, same thing happend to my buddy and the guy who hit him (his insurance) covered everything. They had to replace the whole bumper n a lil extra. It cost about 2g's and they also covered his rental from enterprise. It took them about 7~10 days to fix. Too bad ur all the way down in San Diego, I kno a great shop up here in the Inland Empire (I.E.) that works directly with AOA n Mercedes. My buddies ride came back better than new.
