Last month at a scheduled service, Audi updated me to the latest ECU software. (car is stock...)

The car runs fine and I can't say I can feel any differences however something odd I've noticed is that in some circumstances, the Gear Indicator on the dash display doesnt always change when the transmission kicks down from a higher gear. It does if you floor it, but on slight throttle it kicks down but the displayed gear doesnt change.

Eg. Normal driving mode, cruising along at say 80km/h, Gear display shows 6th. Approach an incline and feed on the gas with say 20% throttle. The transmission definately kicksdown, (can feel it), the RPMs rise respectively and the car accellerates as expected HOWEVER, the dash display still shows 6th ?
Ease back off the throttle, transmission shifts back up, RPMs drop again. (confirming a gear shift...)

I'm not too bothered by it as the car drives fine, just wondering if others have noticed this ?? Can only say I've noticed it since the software update.

It's not actually kicking down, it's going froma locked torque converter to unlocked which allows it to stay in the same gear but accelerate higher in rpms to get you in a better powerband.

+1 converter unlocking
