Could anyone enlighten me on how the outer trim is attached to the s-line grilles? Id like to swap out the black trim on a black out s-line grille for the OEM chrome trim. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it just snaped into place?
My other option would be to have the OEM dark gray grille painted black, leaving the chrome trim, but I would imagine the trim has to be removed in that scenario as well.
Basically, I want a true black (not gray) grille with chrome trim, not the brushed aluminium. Could anyone shed some light on this for me?

Hi
I have just done it with a rs4 grill with black trim and a s-line with the chrome/polished.
There is alot of plastic taps on the back of the the trim piece, you just have to press the tabs down one at a time with a screwdriver. When you have done this, the trim is lose and you can put another one on the grill.
I will post pictures later tonight.

Allan, thats great info, thanks. I wanted to do the exact same thing with either the RS4 grille or a black out S-line grille. Are you happy with the results?
So it sounds like its just a time consuming process, but pretty easy. Im looking forward to seeing those pics.

It dosen't take so long to swap the two trims around.

Thats well done. Thanks for posting those pics. I was worried about the brushed aluminum on the RS4 grille matching mt chrome window trim, but this is a perfect fix.

By the way, has anyone ever tried to make an s-line badge fit on an RS4 grille?
Very interesting I did not know it could be done. I might just switch my all black rs4 grill trim with the oem polish aluminum until I can black out my side window aluminum trims.
