Beautiful RS4. I loved every bit of it but I was very tired after filling all the rock chips. I probably filled in 50 (or more) rock chips and two large scratches. I then wet sanded and polished and I am exhausted. Everything took around 14 hours and the end result was amazing! Sorry the pictures are pretty terrible...I really need to work on my skills and take it out of Auto.

Fill with oem touch up, then wet sand with 3000grit works pretty good...

yes,
1-take your time and fill up with OEM paint.

2-Take a bucket of water with a couple drops of soap in it and wet sand it down.(i use 2000-3000 grit depending on paint type/condition)

3-REMEMBER to use a sanding block to evenly distribute pressure so that you dont sand through your paint.

4-use a dry clean towel to wipe it down

5-buff it with wool with polish to get the shine back (DO NOT over heat and burn your paint) so dont be in a rush.

Forgot to say sweet car and nice detail! 14 hours is a marathon fo sho!

Thanks for the tips guys. Have always dreaded sanding my paint! Got to get over that!

Any tips if it looks like there is a little rust on the metal where the chip was? I want to get that out before I put the paint over it, right? I made the mistake of buying a CPO that was leased, but I didn't really have a choice. They didn't exactly take the greatest care of the paint, but it could have been much much worse.

Thanks in advance!

Haha I am trying. Too much work too little time.

I used touch up paint from paintscratch.com and did base coat + clear coat + 3K grit + compounding. End result was very nice [cool]
