Does anyone have any recommendations for brake pads.

I found some OEM brake pads on ECS for about $95. Should I just go with those or some performance brake pads?

I've had EBC Red Stuff put on the front. They're very good, don't squeal like the stock compound as they're ceramic, & they have alot of bite, even from cold. Highly recommended [:)]

What pads have the least amount of dust?

Haha good call... I hate having titanium package wheels up front and stock in the back about a week after washing my car. JK, I try to never let it get that bad. But I did see another brilliant red a4 yesterday and the front wheels were definitely BLACK. It looked like you needed a chizzle to get all of the brake dust off.

Anyways, if you add new pads such as the EBC Red Stuff, will you notice a big difference in stopping power? I definitely want to upgrade my brakes at some point, but there are a few other mods on my list that are going to come first...

The Red Stuff pads are better than stock but with most higher performance brake components, the real differences comes when they are fully warmed up.

They don't kick out as much brake dust as stock, either.

Hawk HPS pad is a good, low dust pad with great performance. I can go a few weeks with out washing my car and not have caked up dust inside and out of my wheels.

Carbotech is the way to go. I've never had them on my car but I'm buying a set for track and will be buying their bobcats (street) once I wear through my current pads. Less dust, more stopping power and last longer.

I have the Hawk pads and there is virtually no brake dust at all and they perform much better then stock.

wouldnt the ceramic's take a while to warm up before being able to provide maximum performance?

Yes, if they're track pads. No if they're street pads. Different applications have different ceramic compounds.
