anyone here that says they've never launched from a light or that they've never been provoked by another nice car is a liar. you don't buy an A4 and or mod it and then not mess around with it.
that being said, street racing is bad.

Well, I guess I'll start.
While you may consider street racing to be fun and risky because you might be subject to a ticket, I'd say that street racing is STUPID. Am I being harsh or judgmental? You tell me...a guy I went to school with killed a pedestrian while street racing, went to jail and lost his license for I don't know how many years, not to mention he lost at least a couple of years of schooling...and life. I've also read enough news stories about kids getting killed while street racing or killing their passengers and/or bystanders to know how royally STUPID it is.
Bottom line, if you want to race, go to the track, do some AutoX or get some DEs under your belt. Street racing is mostly done by kids who are "young, dumb and full of c*m" with something to prove but lacking the experience or skill to control a car at speed. Stepping on the gas pedal in a straight line takes zero skill, making "street racing" all the more moronic.
There, now have at'er...

true, auto x is fu, i would do that but their really isnt a track here, only thing we got is ny drag strip, englishtown

i also remember when i was in high school one guy in the grade above me hit and killed someone while most likely racing. Racing looks really cool in the movies but if you sit back and think about the risks of injury as well as the fines and penalties at risk in getting caught, you realize that its not worth it. to me, a hooked up a4 still isnt "racing" fast, but even if i had something that was (s4+), i would take it to the track.

I would say spirit driving is more suitable for me.

I like to keep it sane as much as possible. It is way too risky to be flying around all the time... but it is very easy to get the urge sometimes. I find it much more fun to save the "spirited driving" for the twisty back roads and freeway on/off ramps. I definitely make sure there is plenty of space between me and the car in front before I get on an on/off ramp so I can see how many G's I can try to pull. I find it much more fun/exhilarating testing the quattro on the curvies than I do destroying my clutch launching from a stop light. Plus, other cars and going fast can only end up bad for you and everyone else around you. Backroads all you have to worry about are deer and trees... mmm deer jerkey

i race everything. I race gtis, civics, accord, mini-vans, SUV's, squirrels, hell, there was one race with this guy on a bi-cycle in a mcdonalds uniform that wanted a piece of this, so i raced him. When theres nothing left to race, i race myself to the supermarket and see how fast i can get to the store- inside- checkout - and back home.

can't agree more.
just try to imagine if your family members got killed by someone trying to show off their friggin' "stepping on the gas pedal" skills on the street, how would you like it?
some single-cell twats think they're nothing but a perfect race driver....it's a mystery why they don't prove their skills in the real races against other professional drivers....oh wait, I know, it's because they're full of crap!
do your world a favor....don't street race.

Nothing cheers me up more when a stupid ricer causes some major $$$$ damage to their car... then has to spend months working min wage to pay for it to be fixed... hahaahahah
kids... this is what happens when you decide not to go to college cause it interferes with your "racing career".

Blah, blah...
Plenty have people have done it. I've wrecked plenty of cars. Any time you're traveling slightly faster than another vehicle traveling nearby, you're taking a risk.
Ban him for posting this? Fuck no, that picture of Alf was more dangerous.
That said:
The year 1994
Me: 1987 Porsche 944: stock
Him: 1960's-ish Camaro.

That picture made me laugh then I wondered why I thought it was funny..
that being said, wide open access road or freeway, I might try to coax someone in a 3 series (or SL55) to slow down then open it up to about 100. Any potential for people walking across the streets, cars pulling onto the street, etc. and you'll find lots of faster traffic passing me on a normal day. Take it easy out there, next time it might be my little sister, mom, grandmother, or dog.

You don't have to go endangering everyone bystander and near by drivers and yourself to have a little fun in your car. It just like everything else you still have to use a little common sense.
