No matter what you do the black paint chips off the front grill so here is what im doing. My paint guy is going to reshoot my front grill and then im going to clearbra the grill surround and mirrors. The window trim is perfect so far. What do you think about the clear bra idea?? i know someone who can do it and he said no problem.

Can you post pics of your custom black grille front? Im trying to decide whether or not to do the RS4 grille, or paint the S-line grille and filler plate brilliant black. Id like to see what other people are doing.

i was talking with some muscle car guys not too long ago about clear bras on their cars... THERE IS NO WAY TO TAKE IT OFF WITHOUT STRIPPING PAINT (according to them). Ive never had a clear bra...
The other thing to make sure, is that you can live with the line that is created around the edge of the clear bra.

im just doing it on the trim pieces and the mirrors so stripping the paint is not a worry. this should be the best solution for chipping.
Damn I was all about ready to do the window trims, now I think I'm going to wait it out to see how your goes.

Is the blackout grill from ECS painted or not? I'm thinking its not but I've never seen one in person. If its not, wouldn't it 'chip' alot less?

the ecs grill holds up very well just like the bumper (except for rock chips of course) but did you "dip" it?

You can remove the clear bra with no issues, just make sure you let the paint cure for at least two weeks before you apply it.

Buy a Ti grill from From ECSTUNING. It wont chip like a painted Grill would. Paint going to flake off the grill anyway. I tried on my first audi. Never worked out. waste of time, money, effort.

looking at the pics on the other page, i noticed that the filler plate does not look painted and i thought that was your concern. are you going to paint it? imho it looks much nicer glossy black than flat black.

Get a blackout grill for 177 or just spray it with plasti-dip that stuff can take a beating.

Plain and simple, 3M ClearBra rocks - I got it from the dealer on my financing when I bought the car for an extra.....$6 a month on my payment, I think it was? Very worth it.
