Hi,

I am playing around with a rear view camera for my A4. I called the dealer as the folks at Navplus.us said i need to pull the Navigation to do the install (this makes sense). The dealer 2 miles down the street said they werent allowed to sell me the tool & that they could remove the navigation unit for me (not really what I am looking for).

Is this typically the case? Where else can I get a removal key (I would like to find a local solution - walmart, bestbuy, etc).

Thanks,
Rich

Go to your body shop or mechanic, chances are they will remove it free of charge for you seeing as how it takes 30 seconds to do.

or just make some yourself. just find a picture on google and cut them out from some sheetmetal... works like a charm

or go up to bestbuy or circuit city and they normally will remove it for free if you dont have the proper tools, its like a few seconds to remove...

I realized I posted in the wrong section (I have a B7) but I think the radio/nav is probably the same thing.

Will this work?

Or

This is based on this link (I am assuming this is the correct thing):

That tends to happen when they don't know their ass from their elbow.

But, I agree the local Best Buy/Circuit City should do this free of charge. However, to make them feel like they, yes I said they, aren't getting hosed, buy a cheap accessory from them.

When the guy removed mine, I also bought a wiring harness and antenna adapter at the same time, to hopefully liven up his day. But the bastard also broke my old deck so I couldn't resell it.
