So after trying to sell my rwd Nissan Xterra since december, its finally gone as of thursday. The next day this:

http://denver.craigslist.org/car/664752928.html popped up and I drove down to take a look at it.

2000 Audi A4 1.8TQM
71,000 Miles

Revovler cams 248/258 intake/exhaust $600.00,
ATP highflow exhaust manifold $250.00,
Labree polished stainless steel custom racing cat $ 350.00,
Custom stainless steel racing exhaust $ 1500.00,
GReddy Trust front mount intercooler $ 1200.00,
EVO Motorsports cold air intake $300.00,
Eurospec k04+ Turbo (needs replacement),
GIAC Switchable chip stock/pump gas/racing gas $700.00,
Carbon fiber engine cover $100.00,
Fiber Images carbon fiber hood and trunk. $2000.00,
xenon headlights $1000.00,
short shift kit and momo shift knob $500.00,
S4 power seats with suede incerts. $2000.00,
Brand new windsheild $500.00,
RS4 factory front bumper $1500.00,
S4 rear bumper $300.00,
Rieger side skirts $500.00,
S4 Wheels (5) and brand new Kuhmo Ecsta tires $1000.00,

A couple things not listed... built transmission with s4 clutch and new oem brakes.

Some of the prices are a little exagerated, but still... a sick deal.

The only problems are hail damage on the roof and a blown oil seal in the eurospec k04. The car was tuned by Jeff Moss out here in Denver, so it should run good at altitude.

I plan to replace the side skirts with S4 ones and paint the rims as a temporary solution. Any suggestions on color?

Down the road, coilovers, Rims... prob Flik Justice or similar, then Built 2.0 with 3071R.

Also, anyone have a K04 for sale? He is having the RS6 speciallist at prestige in denver install the turbo, i just need to find one.

Anyway, I can't wait to drive it! Im so pumped to finally be getting an a4, and a great deal (better than the add) at that!

Will do! Just have to find a turbo first. There is a guy in Loveland that said he would sell me k04 internals for 600. I would have to bolt on the hot side and compressor housing from the eurospec. I have heard the eurospecs are known for this problem. Will i have the same problem down the road using those housings?

audimuse, where are you located in FoCo?

You could just have the turbo rebuilt. probably cost about 600 and you'll know its done right..

I would shave the lower door molding, but aside from that the car looks pretty nice.

Check out gpopshop.com for the turbo rebuild.

Looks nice. I kinda like the silver/black door molding. Idk, I'd have to see it in person to make a decision though.

Actually $7500[:D]

I actually called there. They are out of stock of new and rebuilt k04s. said the nextbest thing would be a k03 with k04 internals... [:(]

When i switch to the s4 sideskirts, do most people shave the molding or just paint it? I thought it stuck out being black, but not sure about silver[confused]

would that bolt up to my manifold? What else would i need to run low boost until i build the engine? It has TT injectors, would i need to go bigger?

I am seriously considering this!

Thanks for all comments! I'm getting antsy... lol[drive]

So they have the K04 internals, but not the actual K04? Could you just send them your blown K04 and have them rebuild the internals? [confused]

Ya, my only concern is that i was told that the Eurospec K04 compressor side is know to have problems as well... as in bad machining etc. I think i may have a lead on a new k04 for $850. Seem like an ok deal?

Poopie
05-05-2008, 08:24 PM
Not a bad deal for a new k04. They are so scarce these days so you will have to over pay to get what you want.

Just get an eliminator 28 kit, wont cost much more than a k04. The car already looks to have all the supporting mods as it is, though you'd have to dish out money on a tune, but then again if the car has a k04 tune you can always sell that.

NK2007
05-05-2008, 08:43 PM
What all would be needed to run an eliminator on my current setup? Are larger ingectors/maf required? As far as the tune, I may be able to get that hooked up at a discount at the end of the summer, but until then would i be alright limiting boost?

I think i am going to just bolt up a k04 for now, then when i build the engine go 2871 or 3071.

Found a new K04 today... After calling all over the country, i found one local! A little more than i was hoping to pay, but I don't have to wait for shipping.

NK2007
05-08-2008, 06:29 PM
Yea, I know. All the Gt series i saw, i was looking at $1300, But then i would have to get retuned, and it just don't have the money for that. The actual turbo was 950, and then the hardware kit and tax. Its not too bad, considering everywhere else is sold out( been calling everywhere over the past week...), and even if they weren't, it is $835 +shipping +tax.

Either way, its done now, and I really don't want to think about it. Haha... I just want to drive my car. Cant wait for Sunday!

Cams for a K04 turbo?

Shrug. The owner said they made quite a difference, especially after the tune. It probably wouldn't have been my first choice, but since they are there, its not like i will be pulling them out. Plus, when i go 2.0, they should be nice.

Poopie
05-08-2008, 09:34 PM
well the good thing is, when you realize the k04 just isn't enough, you can sell it for a pretty penny still. Just sell all the other supporting upgrades like ecu, injectors, etc. The cost to move up to a gt28rs isn't that big of a difference.

Well after almost two weeks of waiting, I finally picked the car up today!
All i can say is WOW! I Love it! It pulls like a mofo! I can't imagine what the BAT guys feel like! I need to clean it up, both inside and out, but wow. Thats all i can say!

Still burning the leftover oil out of the exhaust (which sounds amazing btw), but other than that, it runs great!

Custom, no, S4 yes. Cream leather with blue alcantara (sp?) Power and heated seats.

Pretty sure that wasn't an option on s4 seats. The options were black leather with blue or white alcantara. I've never seen cream with alcantara. The alcantara isn't the right shade and it doesn't extend all the way down the seat either.

Hmm. all i know is that he pulled them from his 2001 S4 when he rolled it 3 times. maybe i will ask him about that. I think i'm stopping by his house tomorrow to pick up a new tire for the spare that he has. ill bring that up. who knows. maybe they are custom, maybe just super rare stockers? Makes me wonder now.

Overboostin
05-15-2008, 11:10 PM
I'm putting money on that they're custom. I have never seen s4 seats like that. This is what the sport package seats look like: http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e71/dhm118/Audi%20S4/6996598424243976021IM106565x421_A56.jpg.
The suede goes all the way to the bottom of the seat and its a different shade. Like I've said, I've only seen the suede with black seats, never with creme. If I'm wrong about that, I would think the alcantara would be the same shade and cover the same area. Don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking your seats at all, I like them, I'm just trying to help you out.

wtf is up with those sideskirts?

NK2007
05-15-2008, 11:20 PM
Yea, upon proper googling, it would appear that they are custom. No worries overboostin, no offense taken, in fact, thanks for pointing it out. Ill ask him about it tomorrow.

Oettinger1919... I know, right... they are fugly... They are reigers though, i think the v2. IMO S4 skirts would fit the car 10000x better. That is on my list of things to do.

There currently is no headunit or amp in the car, but there are some pretty decent aftermarket speakers installed. All speakers are custom wired for a separate amp, so i'll have to go that way, i suppose. can someone say car pc? maybe...

ya but arent you supposed to pull of those upper plastic parts?

NK2007

If you do, you have to shave some metal pins and have the doors repainted. I think most just paint them...

loustylez
05-16-2008, 08:41 AM
yah those are V2 skirts. it would look tons better w/ the V1 skirts. i have some waiting to put on but i got oem bumpers so... i think it'll still look good as long as they don't look as deep as yours, i should be able to get away with it.
