What is even more annoying, is waiting 30 seconds for threads to load, which is what would happen if searches could be run repeatedly because of the amount of load it puts on the server. [up]

30 seconds is pretty annoying. Especially if you spell something wrong or realized that you searched the wrong term.

srsly!!!
people advise everyone to search left and right. and then when you do, you spend an hour just to figure out the right term to search under. THEN you have to weed through all the garbage to find what you are looking for.. i don't mind all the weeding. but the, "please wait 28 seconds before that action", is annoying..
i realize there is only so much you can do, Anthony. just stating my opinion [:)]

With a database as large as we now have, there is indeed only so much we can do. The good news is vBulletin is finally addressing the known issue with their search tool. Hopefully we'll be seeing some improvements soon.

Yes, we had to remove the search tool temporarily. We hope to have it back up soon.

I agree. I'd rather wait 30 seconds between searches than 30 seconds for a page to load. That's no lie either.
Would you rather receive spam emails 1 every 30 seconds, or 3,000 at once?

It's to avoid having to remove search permanently.

Gone forever, sorry. We got so many complaints about the 3 character minimum and the 30 second wait in-between searches, we just said **** it.
