Hi
Im ordering a set of DPEs for my S5, would really like to gauge what color wheels would look best on Phantom Black: Powdercoat Black or Gunmetal (charcoal) finish. Any pictures or photoshops on an S5 or similar looking black car would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I would say flat black. Audiworld.com had someone who got flat black s15's for his phantom s5. You could also email DPE directly and ask them for pictures. I have before and got a fast response. Dpe-wheels.com also has galleries. Not sure if the s5 is up as yet but you can see the color of the wheels and imagine it on the s5.

I have some flat black DPE R08 Variant S. They're on a B6 A4 but you can still see how the color looks.http://i31.tinypic.com/11k8nl4.jpg

Wow thanks for the help guys. It took me a while to decide but I finally choose flat black. I used to own a set of glossy black R07vs but flat black gives it a more sophisticated look IMO. But I also love Sizzle's setup, those LS5's are really hot and luxury looking. I settled for a more agressive S10. Pics in 6 weeks?

I agree about Flat looking more sophisticated. Glossy just looks cheap and plasticy IMO. Good choice.[up] You won't be disappointed.

black wheels FTL. . . .so played out, so played out, and so un-original.
Go with Liquid Cinder, either matte or gloss. Titanium Asphalt is also great. . . as well as brushed aluminum
I'd recommend Platinum Graphite, but they dont offer that finish anymore, I was the last person to get it. Wish I would have known you were ordering some DPE's because the owner and I are good friends, i chill at his place sometimes with the boys, and I might have been able to get you an awesome deal.
Anyway, here's my Platinum Graphite S-7 on Black Sapphire, which is similar to Phantom Black in that they're both metallic blacks.

Thanks SoCal..
I've already confirmed my order for the S20's in flat black. I thought it was a way better choice than the glossy finish. However, I could use your help in making sure my order does get shipped out within 4-6 weeks [;)].
The only concern is the size I went with: 255/30/20 x 9.5 for all 4 wheels. 255 seems a little stretched on 9.5 wheels and I do want close to stock comfort, but that was an optimal size recommended to me by my wheel man. Maybe I shouldve gone 265 as recommended by tirerack.
Btw, Hot, Hot ride. I see what you mean by that unique color.

Now matte black is cool. . . . I had two sets of matte black iForged wheels before finally coming to these DPE's. I'll keep in touch with the guys from DPE about your order [;)]
As for the tires, yes, I'd recommend a 265/30/20 all around. I'm not a fan of the stretched tire look, nor is it a performance oriented thing to do, so I'd opt for the larger tires. As far as stock like comfort goes, that would have more to with wheel/tire diameter then width. So an 18'' or 19'' wheel would be stock like, where as a 20'' wheel (such as my own, and yours) isn't very stock like. But do not be alarmed because our car's ride silky smooth, even on 20's, so disregard those who tell you that your going "have hell riding of 20's."
Cant wait to see the final results man!

Actually SoCal i could use some help now. Ordered a set of DPE S20s in flat black finish suppose to ship out to Hong Kong by this week but no response from them yet. Apparently they have moved office??
