and what better way to make sure its broken in than by going to the track.

100% daily driven set up. 20psi boost, 28lb avus wheels, 93 oct, tools in the trunk, full weight, ect.

last run of the day..i finally got a good launch. i am #12.

haha nice.

i slipped that 6 puck soo bad the first time i ran. i just let out and went like 10.xx @ 61mph or something haha. every other time i was afraid to dump it in fear of roasting a brand new disc.

the last run i dumped it. it held 100%.

P.S. I am glad you finally made it out to the track!!!

Not bad Ian if my car was full weight it would be slow as piss. maybe next week i'll take the 35r out there and see what happens

your car looks pretty quick though based off your trap speed. compared to other slips.

i think the car could go quicker though. this was the first time i went to track where i felt i could actually get a good run in. ive been before but had no clue what i was doing. today i went so back to back on the runs i actually got a feel for the car.

i was really nervous about dumping the clutch considering i just installed it a week ago. [>_<] but the last run was a dump. it hooked and went.

the car could def use some weight reduction to try to go fast.

i want a 35r. or something bigger than a 30r at least. dont really care what.

lots of them. im not going to list them all. they are posted in tons of threads.

turbo is gt30r though. runs were done @ 20psi. and turbo has some "issues" to put it nicely. last time on the dyno car made 327awhp.

What is full weight? Did you weigh it when you were there? My car is at 3525lbs with me in it, half tank of gas, S4 wheels, and a pretty large speaker box and amps in the back.

What are the issues that your turbo has?

k0mpresd

no clue what the weight is.

compressor wheel has messed up fins. but it still makes boost, so i run it. i dont have a replacement nor do i have the $$ for a 35r.

That means its running at a much lower efficiency and it isn't moving as much air as it should.

im still using southbend stg3 pressure plate. or as mike said the hd plate.

i only changed the disc.

yes. stg4 plate has more clamping force.

mike-2ptzero

Stage 4 should still feel pretty close to stock since it is still a single diphram pressure plate. Both of the B6's I have driven have a SB stage 4 and are no where near as stiff as my dual diphram setup I have in my B5.

pedal feel has to do with the pressure plate... I am running the Clutchnet "red 2x" pressure plate, and it feels like stock...nowhere near a sb stg 4.

to be honest. if was the first time i had launched the car and everything worked the way it should. i dumped the clutch. it grabbed. and the car accelerated. i thought a 1.7sec 60 foot was decent. how much of that was the diff? if any. i really dont know.

stronger pressure plate means increased pedal feel. and more clamping force down on the clutch disc itself. this allows the whole set up to handle more torque.

a 1.7 60ft is pretty damn stout man...I guess what I was getting at was did it feel more like RWD than quattro. IMHO, Quattro has a certain feel to it when compared to RWD like in my old mustangs. I don't know how to explain it, it was just different. Obviously the RWD transfers weight to the back alot more but it was more than just that...bah...forgive me, I've just OD'd on sour patch kids. I'm delirious now.

ive never really driven rwd cars. not a lot of them. well, porsche 944s but they have front engine/rear tranny. and i never really launched either of the 2 i had. just drove them.

I didn't notice any difference launching a B6 car that had a stock torsen and then one from stasis. Plenty of stock torsen guys pulling 1.6-1.7's with GTRS kits.

Don Supreme
04-25-2008, 05:25 AM

i think 50/50 or maybe 40/60 is ideal for an awd launch.

The diff shouldn't change the launch unless it is fully locked. The Torsen diffs all act the same with the only real difference being how much torque can be moved one way or the other.

Exactly, which is why it was marketed towards people that road race. This is also why 034 runs a welded center and rear diff in their cars, this is what javad tells me I should do on my car too.

the last run i dumped it. it held 100%.

Getting 1.7's are not that hard if done right. Just have to bouce the rpm's, go WOT and release the clutch all at one time at the rpm you want to launch at. Doing that gets me 1.5-1.6 in my car and 1.6-1.7's in all the other A4's I run at the track.
