Well i finally got my trim back. it took a while due to a few things, but its no biggy. Terry and Winston were easy to work with. While the trim was out of the car, i also ordered a set of corbeau seats. they are black microsuede and were easy to install, minus the fact that i had to buy longer bolts. I also moved my turbo timer to my middle console where i had this very small storage compartment. i think for newer model cars it is where a cup holder goes. before i moved it it just sat on top of the steering column cover thing. All it took was some bondo and paint. I also installed a JHM short shifter which i love, and i did a clay bar, polish, and wax since it we actually had a nice weekend here in Washington finally..... enjoy. sorry for the picture whoring. havent done it in a while.

first to see how it matches the hibiscus(both colors look brighter than they really are in the photos. its not that red in person)...

love the trim and the guts...wish i had your bank account haha =)

haha, bank account isnt big. Just save for car parts and all. ask any of my close friends, family members, or GF. i dont see things in dollar value....i see them in car parts. for example, my GF says hey we should go on a trip, its only $2000 dollars. than i say, well you know what i could do to my car with that....lol. i dont know if thats necessarily bad, but i see a lot of things that way if im spending money. people that know me make fun of me about it all the time.

thanks for the comments so far guys. i recommend upgrading the trim to anyone. its a nice touch to the interior even if you just get black cf. i cant stop looking at it when im in my car, and i feel like it really updates the interior.

and just a side note. I was looking at getting either recaro or corbeau seats. for the money, i would go with corbeaus. seats of the same quality of recaro arent worth the extra money imo. only if you get higher end seats(like toplines or something) i would go with recaro. a huge difference is that recaro uses a knob that you have to spin to recline to seat. corbeau uses a lever which makes it 50 times easier to adjust quickly. that was the only thing i ever hated about old recaros in my mk2 scirocco, and recaros i was testing out before i purchased these seats. for the same seats but just in recaro, they were almost double the price...they are nice no doubt. but i would recommend corbeau to anyone who doesnt want to spend a ton of money.

Well in a few months the son should be back at the shop so by the time your ready he will be there.

I love how that turbo timer fits so perfect in the dash.

Eurotuned_A4
04-16-2008, 10:00 AM
yeah. the easiest way to do that is put some painters tape around the turbo timer and bondo around it. that ensures a good fit. i tried to just bondo and dremel out at first bit it didnt work so good. this way it sits a lot better. i like how something so small could clean up the interior like that though. it took a little bit of time, but anyone could DIY. i always hated the little storage compartment anyways and never used it, so this is a good change.

Everything looks great and Terry does awesome work. Ever think about adding an EBC? All you would have to do is move the TT up and put the EBC right under it and then center them both. I think that would look sweet.

Good job on the DIY.

yeah ill eventually get an ebc. that will be when i go BAT status though. very good idea! i might have not thought about it. ill definately keep that in mind for the future when i begin to upgrade.

how much did those seats run you?

Eurotuned_A4
04-16-2008, 07:55 PM
just check out corbeau.com, the prices i paid are exactly the same as listed there. i think the sliders/brackets were around $85-100. i got the option to have the bar that goes across the bottom of the seat to slide it back and forth, instead of the 1 lever option(if this makes any sense) which was $15 more.

damn you were quiet for a while and then you come back hitting the ground running with all these new mods and plans. You got the bearings right? Try and find a facelift center console. It will feel like a brand new interior.

im on the boards. im just pretty quiet. and i forgot to tell you that i did get the bearings, thanks! i say small things here and there. I would get a facelift center console, but i would rather use the money on other things. plus, my interior already feels brand new, lol.

BTW, does anyone have an HKS turbo timer? mine reads speeds all messed up and i would like to fix it. any suggestions?

anyone know about the turbo timer issue?...even if its greddy turbo timer can someone chime in if their mph option works? i didnt install mine myself, but had someone do it. did they possible just tap into the wrong wire? i guess i may need to start a different thread to draw more attention if i got no replies here.

and i know i dont really need the mph option there. but because of it the 0-60 time option doesnt work either, along with a few other things the TT can do.
