View Full Version : search issues: multiple words search results
Before the AZ upgrade if I enter two or more words the search function would list all post containing all of the words which would give me a very filtered search results.
Now if I enter more than one word I get hits for any post containing any of the words which makes the results pretty useless.

Try using the word "AND" in between your search words, or put quotes around what you're searching for to make it more specific. For instance, instead of just the terms Avant and suspension, try "Avant suspension".
I tried that and there is no change in the search results.
Tried it with the word AND and compared it to the same search results without it and they are exactly the same.

Using the AND may not, but the quotes absolutely does narrow down the search results.
I must be retarded then.
I tried putting "and" between the words and asked me to show the posts and there is no change.
I tried putting the words in quotes and there is no change.
Prior to the upgrade I never had to do anything and just entered the words with spaces and the system did the rest.

Unfortunately, due to the size which the Audizine forum database has become, the way the standard search function works had to be altered in order for it to work at all. It was either make the change and keep the feature as we see it now, replace it with a generic Google search tool, or remove it altogether.
