Just wanted to get everyones thoughts on this.. I have a 01 1.8T. I'm getting some hesitation between 3000 and 4000 rpms. It feels like I'm losing boost or something. Someone had said it might be a valve on turbo?? Any ideas?
Thanks.

Could have something to do with the vvt. 2001 was the first year audi put vvt in the a4. There is supposedly a faulty code in the bosch ecu. The ecu tries to take in too much info and "hiccups" at a certain point. I have an '01 and experience this same problem. Haven't found a fix for it yet.

If it feels like your losing boost, i would get yourself a nice boost gauge and monitor boost levels. they are very helpful in all turbo cars.

if its not a turbo related issue, my buddys Maxima had the same exact problem and the issue was the MAF. just needed a new one due to the other being no good.

I had similar hesitation on my old 626 and it was MAF related. Clean the MAF as your first step.

Been a bit, but I pulled the MAF and cleaned it, then cleared the p0171 code. The car ran better then it has in awhile..... for like two days and then trouble code appears and I say bye bye to my boost. Would this Code be from MAF and thus affect Boost?

yes the maf will affect boost. It looks like you should try and replace the maf. Cleaning it doens't always fix the problem. The elements could be burnt out.
