I have a 2001 A4 1.8T 5spd and was under the impression that it had the sport package, i was told that the sport package came with xenon lights, now my car does not have xenon's. would anyone be able to tell me what exactly the sport package consists of, and how can i know if my car does indeed have the sport package.

thank you

sport suspension. sits 1" lower than stock. sport steering wheel (3-spoke with red sport flag emblem on bottom spoke). xenon was additional upgrade to any A4 package.

16" 10 spoke wheels
red shocks
i think there should be a red flag on the t (1.8t badge) on the back.
im pretty sure that they do have xenons (mine did).

Mine came with 17" 9 spoke (Celebration Package) so that's not true. And the red flag on the T denotes the K03s turbo that was put on the 2001.5 A4, IIRC. And mine didn't come with HID's.

sport has the sport suspension, sport steering wheel (3spoke), and the sport wheels 10 spoke 16" for MY 2000. the wheels change depending on the year

no sir, mine is 2001 and came 16's and still had the flag. 2001 and 01.5 both had the sport k03 the 17's were only part of the sport package in 01.5 not 2001, pretty sure about that. sorry you didn't get the hid's, i did? hahahahahaaa[;)]

hmmmm thats weird man, are you sure that the previous owner didn't put them on. maybe someone else will chime in.

i was always under the impression that only 01.5 had the 17's

The red flag means nothing to dentoe K03S or anything... It was just a 2001 thing and just so happens that 2001's came with the K03S... That has nothing to do with sport models either... I also have a complete sport with out xenons...

could be possible, but highly doubt it, i'm the secound owner and the first on was an woman in her 40's, don't think she'd be putting on 17's

I'm not entirely sure what this means:

~Quattro Sport Package
Requires Quattro IV System
Sport Suspension
P225/45VR17 Performance SBR BSW Tires
17-inch 9-Spoke Alloy Wheels

I bought my 2000 in Nov. of 99 and it came with 10 spoke 16's, as all 2000 A4 models did with the sport package, not 17's. the non-sport came with either 15's or 16's and were not 10 spokes.

Also, Xenons were not part of the sport package, they were an additional option

FYI, not all sports came with power sport seats. My sport came with the full leatherette MANUAL seats.

my car a month or two after purchase.

btw, everyone continues to guess, because even the list you posted isn't necessarily correct.

I do not have the cold weather package, but I have the ski bag. perhaps its because I have an avant...

oh here

01' sport package

- sport wheels upgraded like the once in the black avant picture posted above
- Red shocks (stiffer and lower than regular suspension u could tell the diff.)
- 3 spoke steering was standard after 2000.
- should have Xenon if the option was purchased.
- sport seats could be there if option was bought, you could tell the difference.
- 01 and 01.5 a4 1.8t had red flag next to the T emblem on the trunk lid which says the car has the k03 sport turbo.
- if the car had the celebration package combined with sport package then it will have the Rs4 17" wheels.

thats all i can remember till now.

my 2000 non sport has the 3spoke wheel with the audisport emblem, so a sport wheel is not a sport package only option

I've heard this before as well and forgot to mention it. just goes to show everyone, there is no exact science to all these options from what I can tell.

I guess the red shocks are the dead give away for the sport package though. seems to be the only constant over the years.

Some 01's got a front strut tower bar too. I forgot what the science was for that. Judging by how everyone is guessing at whats right. I figured I would just throw that in the mix too.

yup, as far as i know its the suspension and the steering wheel that are the only difference. my wheels were those retarded 5 spoke daisys 15" too. haha. but yeah, and i had the sport package on my 01

Actually, 01.5s are all leftover B5S4s, which is why they got the strut bar.

They also use different wheel bearings and CV axles for this reason.

On my 99.5 - I have the perf leatherette, 16" sport alloys, three spoke wheel w/red emblem and aluminum trim. I doubt it has sport springs though because it looks like it is lifted, even with my 18's on them???

Maybe it is a 1/2 sport package... [confused]

I think the Xenons are available on the Premium package.

There are plenty people using the 2.8 for endurance racing. More then reliable enough.
