Thankfully I don't commute anymore, and I only drive for pleasure, so it doesn't effect me too much. but the Chevron near my house is up to 4.12'ish for 91. (Oak and Masonic). cost me almost 60 bucks to fill the tank this weekend :( but with my 2.0t it lasts a couple of weeks :)

I can't believe I'm saying this.... "I remember when gas was x.xx!" But honestly, I remember when supreme was $1.25 and I had to pre-pay before pumping. Give'em $20 and got change back! Now $20 gets you 5 gallons (if you're lucky!)
We got 3 cars. All the cars take supreme! :(

yeah, this is no fun especially since my commute grew from 14 miles to 89 miles RT. i've been eyeing those jetta TDIs for some time now...although diesel may be a bit higher, i would love to go 50 miles on a tank.

I paid $3.82 at Shell in Tracy... the fill-up cost me just under $60.00. Good thing my commute is only 30 miles round trip. I'm tempted to start biking to work, now that the weather is getting better.
Dawn, what happened to your commute?

Costco Vallejo 91 $3.68
Safeway Vallejo 91 $3.63
Dawn... I feel you on the SSF prices and I make sure if I commute in that area I have enough to get through SSF and SF. Doesnt always work out and if I do have to gas up in SSF or SF its just to get to a cheaper station. Im trying to be an "penny pincher" nowadays and its hard.
BTW... if anyone here ever buys a Hybrid and lives up to the "im doing my part for the environment, I own the road" attitude, I will for ever have you on my $hit list. I love opening up the pipes on my Yukon for those drivers =)

its your friend : ) ohh thats for east bay peeps, there are other sites for sf area, and the SJ area. i look up the city that i live in and where work is, click on chevron or 76, then search : )
ohh, and diesel is a lil more than premium in most places, which is beyond me, except for profiteering. you can get 45-55mpg, screw hybrids. they are worse for the environment than most gas guzzlers! diesel FTW!

andre: what happened to my commute? uum.....moving from burlingame to san jose and still working in south san francisco is what happened. *sigh*
mo: serious! that's why i try filling up in san jose costco as much as possible. even the costco gas up here is more expensive than shell and chevron in san jose. to think, i used to be the biggest gas snob too!

In terms of gas, I find it cheaper to get gas from a regular gas station than Costco. I get 5% back on my gas so that basically is 5cent per dollar. So gas at ~$4 a gallon I am getting 20cents off. No way is gas 20cent a cheaper at costco.

Let me check tomorrow to see which specific Amex it is tomorrow. I'm lying in bed and too lazy to go down and get my wallet.

oh i thought i posted on here last night. anyways, doesn't costco take their costco amex with 5% rebate as well?

It's an Amex Business Platinum card.
I use it strictly for gas (5%) and when I travel and stay at the marriott (5%). Oh and cell phones (5%)
All adds up pretty quickly if you consider my cell phone bill is about $130ish a month, and my gas usage is ~$450 a month.
