View Full Version : DV vac line?

I tore the vac line that's right off the DV. You know, the thin threaded one that runs back up to the engine; not the connection to the turbo outlet hose. I'm just wondering if anybody knows where this vac line goes, or if there's someone on here who has diagrams of where each vac line goes on the 1.8T ATW engine

Actually, on second thought, I think it's the one that runs back up to the turbo inlet hose. Anybody have a diagram for it, so I know exactly which twists and turns I need to take to reach my destination, when I put a new vac line in? Word on the street is that this particular one is a bitch to get back in [headbang]

pretty sure thats the one wraps around the engine to under the intake manifold......but i could be thinking of a different one..........i would emagine that one would be a pretty big PITA

edit: quick search turned up this:

correct, it goes to the underside of the intake mani

You should get rid of the N249 valve that controls the dv and connect it directly to the intake manifold.

Interesting. Is there a DIY around here somewhere for that? I thought it was the N75 that controlled how much boost the DV held...

n75 controls the wastegate actuator - #22 connected to #21

n75 controls the wastegate i think

damn it snapr, u beat me! lol

Oh, gotcha. How would I go about bypassing the n249; refitting the DV bung onto the intake manifold in place of the current one there?

you would plug it in directly on the nipple on the front of the intake manifold.

but what would this accomplish?

It would feed the DV line straight into the intake manifold, thus bypassing the need for the n249?

Sorry, I have no idea beyond that. [confused]

if you do that, you need to put a resistor in the N249 plug to make the ecu think it's still there or you will get a cel

It's really that simple? Damn, I might have to do that.
