I'm looking to get rid of my blinking lights. Since most people talk of getting a new module or having theirs rebuilt i was wondering if i could use one from an older car in mine. I'm driving a 99 2.8 qm and the part would be from a 97 with the same engine. I know i can check part numbers but should i even waste my time calling around?

It is about 200 bucks to have BBA-Reman do it up for you and the warranty is a lot better than any salvage piece. I think the repair was actually 139 plus shipping.

I have the same problem, but I'm in Asia (Malaysia to be exact) so not sure about sending the module to be fixed by BBA-Reman or module master. How much for a new one or perhaps salvage one from another car? Mine's a B5.5 A4 Avant 1.8T (2000).

yeah see the thing is i could go get one for $45 dollars salvaged so i'm not too worried about biting that if it goes up again... i'm just worried about the compatibility
