Well heres the deal... Next winter/end of summer im thinking of changing out my gt28rs for a gt3076r. Right now i have rc440 injectors. They seem to work alright but i do have some idle problems so i think im gonna go with the genesises. I have a tubular exhaust manifold with a t25 flange. Also i am running giac pes gtrs software from a couple of years ago. I will probably go with unitronics for the 76r. I have a evolution intercooler kit. My question is i wonder how much hp im going to gain going to the 76r. Right now i put down 285 to the wheels on 22 psi and pump gas. I am going to be running about the same psi on a rebuilt engine with 034 rods. Right now i have full spool of 22 psi at 4000 rpm. I hear of people says they have full spool on bt setups around 3500. also i have a 2.75 magnum exhaust with a tial external wg. i run a greddy ebc. I have a 3 custom intake setup with a really good heat sheild. Plugs are ngk bkr7es. If you need to know anymore info let me know. Hoping to get over 300whp range?[wrench]

3076 is closer to 400whp. 3071 sounds more like what you're looking for with about 350-375whp and a boost threshold about halfway between the tater and the 3076.

W/ just a tapp tune you'd be over the 300whp mark (supposedly my setup)

Also, the tapp file is interchangeable between the 28RS and 3071R

I have a T25 flanged 3076r (.64), full boost isn't until around 4500-4700 rpm's. I'm also at 5200ft though which can affect spool a little. Hoping to get dynoed here in the next couple of weeks, so I'll post up a sheet.

3076 is the best street turbo out there for 1.8t

lots of midrange w/ potential for tons of top end

and a set of cams will help open up both mid and top that much more

what are good cams for our 1.8t? i might be interested in getting a set but i am keeping the rest of the head untouched, for right now.
i`ll be going 76r as well.

if you are running just a basic chip tune (tapp/whatever) then probably 3651 will be best

if you are considering tapp then maybe try speaking w/ him about a file for a more aggressive cam profile

when i first spoke w/ bobq about cats he said that anything bigger than 3651 and you will need some sort of custom tune

i have been running 3651's for close to 1.5yrs now..i like them

hope this helps

edit: 3651's...

I'd run a 3071r on a 1.8 but if you're going to step up to a 2.0 or 2.1 then I'd skip the 3076 and run Forced Performance's HTA 35R. According to the Evo and STi crowd it makes more power than a standard 35R with quicker spool and boost threshold down near a 3076r. It should get even better with a stainless Tial V-band turbine housing.

That manifold was built by ITS for PES. They only made a few of that design and it was first designed to use a european turbo that had a Vband flange. The first person to get the manifold IIRC was a guy named Terry which worked for ITS and owned a B6, first PES customer to run the manifold was Big Mike. This was way back in 2004 when they first came out with the manifold and it was shown off by Terry at the west coast 1.8t Challenge. Those manifolds have changed hands plenty of times over the last 4 years.

id go for a set of 53's... if you are non vvt you dont have to worry about throwing that code that anything larger than a 51 would... im hoping to be running within the week and we shall see how idle is with 53's and tapp tuning [evilsmile]

Most likely was mikes car since he was from NJ. I will see if I can dig up some of his old threads. IIRC he sold the A4 and bought a GTI.

Useful for what exactly? I don't have any problems with it, I rev to 8000rpms, and there is no lag in between shifts.
