So last summer the car dealership busted my headlights (the valeo ecodes) and now the clips have been broken...

ever since the valeo ecodes have been out of stock.
so supposidly the dealership found some (i highly doubt it), and if they did find after market headlights...i doubt they are the true valeo ecodes.
so im going to make sure they are valeos...other than the box they come in and i know what the look like on the outside of course...
is there anyway to tell its a true valeo ecode and not some shit off of ebay.

sorry if this is a stupid question but really wanna get this outa the way and not worry about it...and not get screwed outa good headlights.

thanks all.

hahaha, if you can't tell now, then why does it even matter...

They will say Valeo on them. Cheap ebay ones will not. If they are Depo, then you might as well take them, cause they are good as well.

If you had Valeo's, thats what they should get you. Can't they order some OEM lights from the motherland? What dealership is this? I have had awesome luck with laurel in westmont. They even hooked me up just earlier today with new coilpacks for cheap.

If it was last summer, you might have a hard time getting them to buy the lights... I mean, that was almost a year ago and NOW you are trying to get them!? Don't be suprised if you are turned away...

I don't believe Valeo still pops out lights for the B5 chassis; they've moved on to newer cars and can't keep making lights for every m/y that they ever produced.

depo, another huge manufacturer, buys the molds from companies like Valeo and continues to pop out pieces like headlights so when the time comes to replace a headlight, the dealers can still get them if the original Valeo stock has run out. The only difference between the original Valeo and the Depo lights is that sometimes, companies like Depo cheap out on the material selection for different components of the lights - their quality control may not be as solid as Valeo either.

having said this, Depo lights will be a satisfactory replacement as far as the dealer is concerned. They may not be able to source original Valeo lights so you'll have to make up your mind when they present them to you. The depo lights came from the same mold, just different quality.

The depo ecodes people use here looks really nice and so for no one complains about leaks or anything. Do they make them for xenons? I've only seen them for halogens

[up] yup, my depos are just fine (minus the tab I broke off because I was being an ass during install)

^^^^thats the same pic in the auction I bought my ecodes from on ebay and when they came in the mail, they were DEPO brand, loved them, never once had an issure with leaking or anything, also the light output was amazing on them with my 6500k HIDs.

question for all you with the depos (i have them too) what did you do to install the blinkers because the stock harness on my 97 doesn't attatch to the headlight and i have no idea what size bulb fits in there.. any info would be great.

just went downstairs and looked at my valeos, i know they arent depos but they use a 21w bulb with offset pins... fairly standard

I made some adapter with the stock and depo holders... dont really remember what I did however... it was free and it looked and worked like OEM.

well fred i know youve been searching and mike told me lltek, sure enough they had the best prices but they were out of stock [mad]

depo doesnt make HID housings, only halogens to my knowledge...
