didnt even get a print out but i made 51 whp, 70 ft/tq.
completely stock with a forge dv.

im hitting about 5ish lbs of boost.

we are thinking its one of these 3 possibilities.

1. n75 valve

2. turbo is bad (but its quiet and no smoke or anything?)

3. bad compression.

Car feels slow but i drive it daily and it runs great, no cel or anything like that. [:(]

haha, i laughed. but then i saw he put 51 whp. so, its INCONCEIVABLE. what a waste of a dyno run though

I was having some trouble getting hard during foreplay earlier today...that, right there, is not as embarassing as those dyno numbers.

Wait...what?

why dyno if you knew your car wasn't 100%?

Nebone

That car is like 30%. Limp mode should go away when resetting ignition. Turbo should be good. If I got those numbers from a dyno, i'd go ape shit and give up.

There is hard limp mode, which wont go away when resetting ignition. Has to be cleared VIA scan-tool or VAG-com

thats like 92 civic CX numbers. Assuming you swapped that motor in, you should get the amazing gas mileage that accompanies it. Congrats on sticking it to OPEC

You're forgetting that Honda's don't make torque. He made 71 ft lbs of torque.

How new is the dyno? maybe they didn't calibrate it or something. your car would feel god awful slow with the power you put down. I say it is a combination of your car in limp mode and the dyno being off. Did the shop have any baseline numbers from an audi or maybe another car?

FYI a Honda CR250 (Dirtbike) will put down similar numbers....

Like 130whp depending on what dyno you're on.

LOL I love threads like these!

well we "vagged" the car its not in limp mode and replaced the n75 valve.

still hitting 3lbs of boost...

so we are left with bad compression or bad turbo :(

Poopie
02-19-2008, 06:52 PM
You can't tell with the vag if you are in limp mode. Did you pull any codes?

jotfinoski
02-19-2008, 07:22 PM
hmm how do i get it out of limp mode than?

and the only codes through vag were a bad 02 and cat code.

but i just passed emissions a few weeks back so we reset the codes and im gonna re-vag it 2marrow after i put a few miles on the car and see if im still throwing it.

im also curios why if i do have a bad 02 or cat im not throwing a cel?

i had a b5 30v last year and when my cat went bad it threw a code for it...

Fix your o2 sensors. They are 100 bucks at any parts store. Try disconnecting the negative on the battery for like 30 minutes, then reconnect it. Turn the key in the on position and let it sit for 2 minutes, then start your car and see what happens. Clearing the codes doesn't take you out of limp mode

jotfinoski
02-19-2008, 07:56 PM
thanks man i appreciate all the help and ill give it a try 2marrow.

also i was wondering if my boost issue could have something to do with my new dv.

i was hitting like 5-6lbs on average right b4 we brought it up on the dyno we replaced the stock dv with the forge but we put the yellow (13-25psi spring IIRC?) and than since than my car is only hitting 3lbs.

i mention it to them and they said that the wrong spring wont effect the boost.

Check the compression. Thats easier to check than the turbo. Could be a bad wastegate.

Clearing codes does pull you out of limp mode. Theres soft limp which can be reset by cycling the key off than back on. Than hard limp which is where you need a scan-tool or a vag-com to clear it. Disconnecting the battery may pull you out of hardlimp, I've never tried it.

Do the pen test outlined here:
http://www.forgemotorsport.com/media/valve_service(1).pdf

And if you haven't done so perform a boost leak test.

Even if its pissing boost, surley ti would still make more than that? OUCH

Does it pull cleanly? and rev out to redline still?? No rattles?

im guessing the turbo is blown now.

im only hitting one pound of boost. :(

anyone think a bad dv would cause me to not hit any boost?

because up untill i installed the new dv i was hitting 7-8lbs and the car felt fine.

after i installed the forge was when i lost all the boost and the car got so slow..

Poopie
02-21-2008, 09:39 PM
The only thing I can think of is your piston is stuck or jammed causing a huge boost leak back into the intake. There really isn't much that can go wrong in the dv.

that's a start for sure - but he said he was only seeing 7-8lbs of boost before the DV swap. He's got other issues.

correct, my bad - thought you were chipped for some reason. change your DV back to stock. obviously something changed when you made the swap.

eastcoastjettin
02-22-2008, 12:29 PM
for sure. 7-8 is right around stock so i would think that it would be the dv. good luck man

Do you know what spring you have in the Forge?

Side note... my 91' Civic had 91hp...

dougyfresh
02-22-2008, 01:28 PM
How long did it take for you do to a 3rd gear pull on that dyno? Must have been forever.

My car did 100awhp bone stock but that was because the dyno rollers were loaded too heavily for my vehicle.

Do a compression and leak-down test. Also check your DV. Is it serviceable? Service it.
