I need to replace the parts in my PCV system.

I did some searching and found a DIY that I remember reading from a while back, however the site is down for some reason. www.scottweese.com/images/pcv/pcv.html

Does anyone else have a PCV fix DIY?

I need to replace the check valves, pancake valve and the hose under the mani with the t hose as well. Just unsure of the part numbers and the procedure.

Thanks

I just did all this a few months ago. I may have the part numbers for everything under the intake mani, I'll post if I can find them. It's really straight forward, just make sure you get all the O-rings with the replacement parts. I had all kinds of cracks in those pieces. I gained about 4psi (on stock ecu) after fixing all those leaks.

That really sucks that site went down - hope its not for too long.

I also have done some work using this particular DIY. - I'll look around at home and see if I can find any of the old pages I printed out.

I found a write-up over at passat world for the AEB PCV system.

Here is the link: http://www.passatworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196909

The worst part of the ordeal ($$) is the check valves that are between $15 - $20 each. The AEB system uses 4 valves.

However, I read that you can just use any old check valve, as long as it is rated for 25+ PSI. I plan to pick some up at napa. Some say the largest factor in the check valves failing is heat, so it is recommended to use some kind of a heat tape to place over the valves.

WTF happen to the check valves? I looked a couple month ago and priced everything out and they were $16-17 each and now I can't find them for less than $25. Anyone know where to get them cheaper? PN is 058-905-291

Purems is $26.95/ea
ECS is $25.55
Autohuasaz.com is 26.20 each

Edit(kinda) I've been searching around after first typing this up, and I think I found a site that sells them for less

Here is my problem, three different PN with same digits
058-905-291 16.38
058-905-291-d 16.28
058-905-291-k 20.84

Any idea's what the difference is between these? will they all work the same?

I checked Napa, they didnt have anything (big surprise).

I'm going to order these. They were recommended on audiworld:

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/search.asp?search=64100&x=0&y=0

Cheap, and heat rated too.

Did anyone find the DIY for the PCV system for the B5?

The passatworld forum link *is* for the B5 A4.

There is little, if any, difference between the DBC and DBW versions for the PCV. I did mine last year, so if you need any pics, other than what is on PW, I can probably take some.

I just did my PCV system. I took out the intake manifold to clean everything and make is easire to get to everything. Make sure you note down where all the vac lines went to. can get a little confusing. btw mine were not exactly the same as the chart, but just mark them as they are now for when you put it back together. THere is a vac libe diagram on audiforums.com, just search vacum diagram on there. very helpful.

Just replace them one at a time and it is really easy. I did mine a couple years ago.
