No, it is NOT a straight line between 3rd and 4th gears. 4th is just slightly to the right. It's the same for me from 1st to 2nd and 5th to 6th.

FYI, I have a JHM Solid SS and installing it into the car hasn't changed this issue at all.

Yep. I never noticed the angle until I installed my Neuspeed SS. 5th to 6th is even more pronounced to the right. I'm used to it now.

Yeah, the whole thing used to bug me too. I'm used to it now as well. A little mental adjustment and all is well. [;)]

Alright thanks a lot guys. It's good to know I won't have to be pulling everything apart again. I was just worried I installed it incorrectly and might be damaging something.

Haha yea, I find that angle looks aggressive. Great color btw, don't see many brilliant red a4's around my area, I've only seen a handful and they look great.[up]

edit: just took a look at your photo gallery. Car looks sweet, nice and clean both the b7 and b6.



how do you guys like your ssk?

I like it, should have installed it awhile ago. Only problem is that getting it in gear while the car is still cold is a challenge. It was the same with the stock shifter but it seems a bit tougher to get into first or reverse with the ssk. That shouldn't be a problem for you though!

I like my short shifter really well. I've noticed the sticky reverse and 1st gear selection in the cold too though. [:(]

A SS is honestly one of the best mods I've put on my Audi's. I wouldn't like the car as much if it wasn't there.

My 1st gear is REALLY tough when it's cold. I've never had an issue with reverse though, and everything worked the same before the SS install.
