View Full Version : New A4 Owner ... Few Questions About Installs

Hey,

Im a new A4 owner, coming from a 350z.
I have a 2006 A4 S-Line, since i got it all I've done is tints all around, replaced the license plate front with a smooth one, and debadging.
I got a few questions as im very new to modding these cars.

Just wondering if anyone knows a good audio place to install my Avic d3 into my A4, while still retaining the steering wheel controls (I heard this can be done). I am hoping the installer can order all modules/adapters and the double din dash trim plates needed

Also, does anyone know some good places to get springs done? As of now I am looking into Trust Auto, a shop in San Bruno that quoted me $550 for H&R sport springs, installation, and a alignment.

If anyone has some modding tips let me know. I'll be ready to head to some meets after I mod the car a little.

Here's some pics. Thanks

nice ride. and DEFINITELY go to a shop that had a good rep and knows what they're doing. i made that mistake and almost totalled my car on the way to reno a couple weeks ago. crappy ass shop didn't tighten everything correctly, my rear sway bar become unbolted, along with the bolt that holds in the shock, and i spun out doin 80 in the mountains.

Hey man. Contact [email protected]. They are located in Los Gatos and do pricing that beats other shops around. They can definitely beat that 500 install charge for your suspension. By at least 150 bucks. I think that would be worth it. [:D]

Welcome to the family dude... I love the Volks and want those bad right now.

You should go to the Treasure Island GTG on the 27th. Look for the thread here in Norcal. That will be a good start and you will learn a ton of stuff that day.

BTW 01A418t, its an S-line not an S4. Basically an S4 w/o the 4.2

I have never mentioned or said anywhere that it was a S4. I know its a A4 (thus how i keep referring to it as a A4), but mines the 2.0 not 1.8

Why do many people keep confusing it for a S4?

Probably because it's a down grade from the 350 as far as performance goes, s4 is more on the same playing field, although the 2.0t responds very well to chip tunning as I'm sure you know.

Your all good. I know you never mentioned "S4". Someone else did and thats where I made the correction.

"step down from an 350" Hardly that [eek]. Stock to stock yes, but after some tuning its curtains for the 350 unless it too goes FI.

And the fogs are over by the headlight switch rather then at that location like the B5?

I left my camera at home otherwise I would've taken some at the shop.
It was finished around 8pm so it was raining and dark anyway.

I'll probably clean it up this afternoon and take some snapshots.

I'll most likely be going to the TI meet so be sure to say hi.

Nice car!

Honestly the D3 install is really easy. Me and my friends did it in a day. I think the link in my signature, to the stereo information thread should help you out. I think the info is similar to the B7.

yea, I think the fogs on a b7 turn on from pulling the headlight dial/switch outward towards yourself. One click is front fogs, 2nd click outward is front and rears.
