I am leasing an 08 A4 and I wanna tint it, and do some other small things. Is it possible to do do a chip/cai on a lease? Is it a bad idea?

Id just like to add a little power and maybe hear the turbo a bit more.

Modding a leased car isn't an issue. I'd recommend just keeping it simple, don't get crazy. You may want to remove the mods at the end of your lease so you don't lose out on all the cash you put in. Mods like tint shouldn't be a problem when you return the keys in a couple years.

How about chipped car going to the dealer for warranty stuff?

Jet Jockey's car is a lease... Might want to look at his posts for inspiration.

My car is leased. I have chip, exhaust, cone filter, and RS4 sway bar tomorrow. So like Anthony said, I'm taking it easy.

Get APR chipped and put it in stock mode when you take it to the dealer and you should be OK.

Depends on the dealer. Although, if something does happen to go wrong with the motor/turbos for some odd reason, and you've modded the stock software, you could run into some issues. That's how it was with the B5 A4 1.8T, and all these years later nothing's really changed in that regard.

How much for an APR chip and how does it work? Do I need to get on the dyno and get tuned?

Does the filter or a CAI make the turbo more audible at all? Are they worth anything?

My car is a lease. I've had it two weeks and it has chip, test pipe, and tint. Eibach Springs and RS4 sway go on in a few days. Don't stress about it. I too would go with the APR software so you can turn it off. Retail is i think $599 for the chip with one "mode". There is an extra charge of I think $100 or so for each "mode" you want installed.

For instance mine as a stock mode - no modification whatsoever, for when the girlfriend drives it, or in your case, when you bring it in for service or end your lease. 91 Mode - Basically "chipped" optimized to run on 91 octane fuel. And Finally 100 mode - same as above except optimized for 100 octane race gas. I can change them all on the fly simply by holding down the cruise control button and still retain use of cruise control.

^ F that just wait until a big event and you can get Buy 1 get 1 free slots. So you can buy 93 octane for 599 and get another program free.

Did you say mod a lease?

Do a search on "Jet Jockey/A4 Pilot" and you'll see about mods.

Yes I can hear the turbo spool and DV loud and clear w/ the cone filter. There are no power gains and I will need to fab some sort of heat shield when it gets warm.
