This will depend on ambients as to what you are actually boosting but the diff between stage 1 and 2 is only around 1psi or so IIRC.

Ambient should have little/no effect on the boost pressure seen at the manifold which is where most boost guages take their readings. The manifold is post IC so should be relatively constant regardless of moderat changes in ambient.. though the turbo does work harder to keep up and the ic heat soaks more quickly when ambient is moderately higher...

I'm pretty sure what he means is ambient at stage 1 and ambient at stage 2...

ambient just means current outside temp.. which could vary... I don't understand what's being discussed here s oI guess I'll shut up now.

ambience is not just temperature, it's your entire surroundings (temp, elevation, barometric pressure, humidity, etc).

ambient temps will effect how much boost the turbo makes. They will affect stage 1 and stage 2 programming similarly. In warmer weather the turbo will attempt to make more boost then in cooler weather in order to achieve the same power. People who have boost guages will often wonder why their car feels just as fast as ever in the winter but they seem to only see 18psi peak whereas in the summer they saw 20psi peak. This is what I am talking about.
To the original poster, the stage 2 programming generally runs about 1 psi less in certain areas so as not to cause fuel cut.
