ok guys i gotta tell you, i just took an a4 for a spin and i loved the cars sweet yet subtle exterior. i opened the back door and was shocked to see how tiny the back seats where. having a ten month old in his car seat with a tiny seat in teh back isnt much fun. 4 doors or not. anyway, i thought it through and i still think the a4 is teh car for me but i got to thinking that i should experiment with parts for the 3.2 v6 just as a safety measure. does any one make go fast parts for teh 6 at all? i cant even seem to find a cold air intake let alone a ecu tune. any ideas where i could go for speed upgrades? thanks all.

Chip:

CAI:

Exhaust:
Custom or a B6 3.0/S4 setup will fit from what I've heard

Anything else?

How tall are you? When I sat in my buddies 3.2 6psd B7 there was plenty of leg room in the back after I adjusted the seat and I'm about 5'9". There was enough room to the point where your knees don't even touch the front seat. How far back do you put your seat?

Thats the first I've seen of a chip. Anyone on here purchase it and could provide feedback.
stratmosphere and evos alsop make an induc.
As far as exhaust you can get a AWE, Neuspeed, or Milteck. Like mentioned above you can have one custom built but its probably going to cost you alot more than the Milteck the pricer of the exhausts.

Send the car to HPA with about $20K.

Budget another $5-10K for suspension and brakes.

Done.

Has anyone done either of those performance mods? Can anyone prove that they actually make a difference? I am also looking into performance parts for the 3.2 and want to make sure that those actually do what they say.

im 6'5'' and I have to have the seat so far back it is about 4 inches from the rear seat which leaves noooo room at all for anyone in the back

I'm also very interested...in the Unitronics chip, too.

I've heard throughout the forums that the speedtuning chip is money but that's the 2.0T one. Nothing from the 3.2 one. Granted it's the same company and they have proven results but for $350 I want to actualy hear from someone who has it installed. It dosen't help that they don't have a dyno graph for it but they have for everything else. But another 25hp would be awsome.

ok so i did a search and found out that ABT makes a supercharger for the 3.2Liter. my question is, does the 3.2 in the a4 fall under vr6 or is the angle 90 degrees? isnt the vr like a 45 degree. anyway if the 3.2 is a vr6 then where or WHO sells ABT products. supposedly the ABT pumps out 355HP. if thats the case damn i want one of those. SC whine with a nice throaty v6 exhaust. sounds almost 2 good to be true.

the V6 in your car would be a longitudinal 90 degree, the VR is a transverse narrow angle. Different animals. Search PES, i believe they have one already for the 3.0, and my have something on the way for 3.2. or you can gawk at this for fun http://downsouthdubs.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2952
:) --but this is purely custom.

Just by an S4 if you wanna go the supercharge I bet that is mega bucks!!! The Unitronic (http://www.unitronic.ca/uni/content/view/43/33/) has some pretty good numbers for chipping it.

even if the ABT sc would work..your probably better off as someone suggested..get an S4... ABT products are extremely expensive...

B6 exhausts work on our 3.2 with minor modifications...nothing an exhaust shop or for all that matter any shop can't handle...

and in regards to the chip..don't have high hopes...on a NA motor you won't be benefitting much anyways..

I would not worry about supercharging. A company that actually knows how to put out a turn key kit like Abt will charge you the cost of another used 3.2 A4 to have their kit. PES is still fixing their kit from the 3 year old 3.0 A4 models and you still will get out performed by a 1.8t with 3 grand worth of big turbo on it.

Forget intakes for the 3.2. I tested the S4 intakes and lost performance. Yes, lost. The stock box isolates heat better then any aftermarket solution I have seen.

Chipping may get you some mild torque gains.

Exhaust will free up some power.

Figure you can get 15hp and 30tq with exhaust and chip. These are your performance mods readily available.

You could run nitrous but that is not for daily use. It would be just to post a good 1/4 mile time. And if you grenade your motor you are in for a large expense...same thing if you grenade your motor via supercharging.

So if looking for big power I would trade for a 1.8t and big turbo it. You can get a true 350hp and run in the 12s for about 5 grand. You get great fuel mileage when not hammering it and if you grenade the motor you can pick up a good used one on the internet for $1500 bucks all day long.

Otherwise you can get a stock S4 but that is a slightly different price point and if you own it out of warrany you are screwed for repairs.

cheers! Mike
