This week i would like to be making to purchases for the p16 setup. I have decided im going to do the godspeed "ebay fmic", i have heard a lot of praise for the performance over price. I need as much feedback as i can get before i make the purchase on the intercooler. Im going to get the bosch red tops (310 cc) from a private seller. If anyone has any forsale please email me immediatley! This guy could maybe not come through on the deal. Im gonna do a cat delete from atp and i am lookin into running the greddy electronic boost controller? what does everyone think of the greddy boost controller (electric?) I also need to purchase the giac programmign with p16. I hear its running at about $600? im also going to need some different spark plugs... what plugs are the best for this setup? Any input of supporting mods or any certain things that are for sale or you see should be bought or done differently please let me know.

I believe AWE ships their kit with the Bosch F7LTCR plugs. I've been using NGK BKR7E gapped at 0.032". You might want a smaller gap, though. I've heard of others with K04s getting misfires with a gap that big.

Calm down little guy. I know most of the info you are seeking is searchable. Give the Bigger Turbo guys some time. They will chime in. I know really nothing about this, so I will read this thread.

it says in your post about the "pc-16" file but you say nothing about a K04. Hopefully you have one or this program will be useless. The intercooler setup you are looking at is good but also consider welding most of the pipes together. This will ensure less boost leaks and perform alittle better. Pretty easy task if you know how to weld.

I am not to knowledgable about BT, but the reason most will not answer is because they simply want you to search forum before posting a question that can be answered in searches before asked. Most will tell you to read this firtst, then search. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=113728 And with the gapping of the spark plugs, they say to gap at .028" with chip, but I do not know about BT. But should be less than .038". There was this one thread that had gap specs for spark plugs on BT, I am just too lazy to search as it does not pertain to me.

And I am not too knowledgable about cars, but I come here to learn about the vehicle I became a new owner of. Good stuff. So, I can not really help you out, but I tried. Check AWE if you do not want to go with custom set up.

Haha of course i have a k04, by the way thanks for the "Calm down little guy." My first post on the zine after switching to it from vortex because most of the people are not very nice on vortex and i get the same degrading talk like i have no idea what im talking about. And that i should wait for the "big bad turbo guys" to chime in. Please dont write in this thread if you are not going to offer me helpful information. Thanks to others for the help so far. I need some more information as far as the ebay fmic goes. I'm just not quite sure whether it is a safe purchase.......

for the pc16 file, it's not necessary to run an ebc. just kick it with your stock n75c valve, or go to a h or j valve at the most. it's already a built in boost controller. when you go big turbo then go for the ebc. the ebay fmic's are not comparable to the spearco's & other super coolers. but for the price it's hard to beat. i run an ebay cooler on my elim 2871. it's runs fine! you're on your way to more power, good luck with the install.

good plugs are the bosch f6dtc, the ngk brke 6's & 7's. all good stuff. .028 gap is what i remember on my old pc16 file.

oh okay, did u buy the piping kit from 034?

creechsa4
01-14-2008, 07:47 PM
fuel pressure, you'll definitely need that & a adjustable fpr to run about 2.6-2.8 bar. (35-40 psi). your stock 4 bar with the 310's would be way over rich. haha i need to change my engine bay pix, it's a little bit "different" now.
pipes are some used one's i got on the 'zine from another member.

jonrogers42

would a 3bar fpr work?

Solaris
01-14-2008, 07:57 PM
3 bar is ideal. The PC16 goes toward the lean side in the upper RPM. Whatever fuel it doesn't need at lower RPM, the ECU trims.

The 3bar, you can get from VW guys. It's an OEM piece on a lot of VWs. I bought one on Ebay for $22 shipped a couple weeks ago. The injectors, you could get the USRT injectors that are 315cc, but those are $175 USRT (http://www.usrallyteam.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=10_44). Also, reference item #10 on this page PC16 info from GIAC (http://www.giacusa.com/faq.php)

Ive heard from many people that the kit you posted doesnt fit well. Either it does not fit straight or they had to get rid of the headlight washers and/or the fog lights as well. By buying a piping kit seperate you can make it yourself. Also ensuring to keep your fog lights. Only thing i would recommend is welding most of the pipes together after your done to ensure no leaks like i said before.

In the link below is the guy myself and several others went through. He is a very good seller! If you scroll around you will find any size core you want as well as a pipe kit for whatever size core you get, good luck. Hope this helps

http://stores.ebay.com/CXRacing

core will run about 160-180, pipe kit w/ couplers will run about 80

Learn the search function. I know for a fact theres at least two sets of 310cc injectors somewhere in the engine classified sections. I also know there was an afpr there about two weeks ago. Theres also like 3 15+ page eBay FMIC threads and probably 5 on various PC-16 topics.

If you take the time to read the above posts you would read that i have emailed various different private sellers for the 310cc injectors. If you know about all these products for sale in the classifieds it would be GREAT if you would send me a link because i am having trouble locating certain items. I appreciate all the people who have chimed in with constructive comments I was confused on a few things that have now been cleared up.

The thing about the pre-fabbed piping kit, is that it might cut 2-4 hrs off of your install time and it may or may not fit as you would like. With the kit of various sizes and bends, you get the exact angle and look you want, just expect to spend a bit more time sizing and adjusting.

ha ha you should know dual, it's fun spending 8 hours with you cutting....fitting...cutting.... aluminum specs do wonders for the scalp..

dualaudi

8hrs? LOL I wish it was only 8. Nothing like making a trip to pick up mounting bracket materials to add another 2 hrs to the process.

Note to self - have all materials needed!
