And what is that special tool it says you need?

There are no special tools... Unless you count the rivet gun as a special tool...

Ok I just read thru it, you have to drill the rivets out with the power drill? And do you need special rivets to put back in or are they just generic sized ones you can pick up from Sears or whatever.

Expect a few PMs from me tonight [:p]

I did mine on my rear door before. You gotta take off the door panel off gently and not brake anything. Then unscrew door frame from door sheet metal. Then take off the window. THen drill out rivets from old regulator. Then rivet in new one. The assemble everything.

Ever since I did mine, I forgot where one metal part goes (everything works without it), but I don;t get that solid thump when closing the doors anymore.

If you need any help, just let me know... Also, if you have MSN Messenger, use it... My addy is Baldwin4@cox.net... This way I can hear the message come in!! But for the rivets, I don't know how they are measured, but ETKA has them listed as A4,8X10X9.6

Hope that helps out... I am sure though that you can use something really close...

Lol, thanks. Hopefully the dudes at Sears will be able to come up with a size close to that, I trying messaging you but it looks like you're offline. I'll be attempting this with 3 people, a Haynes manual and your writeup. If I can't get this done, lord help me [:p]

Are they just basic 3/16" rivets?

Okay, the install went generally smooth, it was nice to find that the rear regulators are only held in by 4 rivets, not 6. I scratched my tint up a little bit in the process, no big deal, I'll get it redone soon enough. But when I was testing my windows, I for some reason rolled down the back window on the other side, and guess what?! THAT ONE SNAPPED TOO.

Haha, so I'm gonna order another regulator and go thru the same process again. Guess it'll be faster this time...
