Where do you guys think I could get the cheapest wheel bearings at? Just the bearings themselves and not the kit...

probably ecs, but they might only do kits. Or go to Napa.

The bearings themselves aren't very expensive

$65 each rear wheel bearing on ECSTUNING.com

I just had my d/s rear installed tonight and my incredible local guy only charged me $90 (i supplied parts and thats with a siezed bolt that took him 1 1/2 hours to get out).

But to answer your ?, ECS has good wheel bearings. Just dont be surprised when they come from a well known parts maker called F A G. I thought it was a joke at first, then my mechanic told me they make great parts.

dealership is like $60. I bought both rears from there. I did one and the other started humming. I figured the cheapest place online is around 50 bucks so 10 bucks is worth just buying it local and not waiting for shipping.

damn for some reason even $60 seems expensive. However, I cant remember the last time I did my WB's on the a4. For my VR6 they are like $25/kit!

the hard part is pressing out the bearing. The hub is so awkward to set up in a press.

speaking of bearings, i just replaced mine yesterday...its good to have the car quiet again.

if you look on carpartswholesale.com they have front bearings made by F A G/ Beck Arnley for well under 100.

What year is your car? Because I have one at my house that I never used. IIRC it is the larger size front wheel bearing for the 2001 A4 and the 2.8/S4's.

I had bought it from Purems but it didn't fit my car since I have a 2000. I started to press it but found out that I had the wrong hub for my car.

Purems list the pre-2001 front wheel bearing at $44.95, the one I have is they sell for $56.95.

If anyone needs the 2001+ bearing I have here at home let me know.
