Has anyone else found differences between the Photos on Dealer's sites, vs the way the car appears in person? I have looked a quite a few Pre-Owned Audis in the NJ area, and they look pretty bad in person, but the pictures look good. Has anyone found dealers to photoshop the pics on their sites?
thanks

A camera can disguise a lot of faults with a car. That's just a given. You have to see something in person to actually make a judgment on it. That's the reason I would never buy a car on ebay that I couldn't go and lay my eyes on.
On another interesting note. Has anyone ever noticed that car manufacturers typically lower cars (especially sport sedans) for the commercials? A friend of mine and I, some months back, were watching a commercial for the GTI on TV (the one where the tow truck driver moves it into a legal parking zone) and he and I both commented that the car was definitely lowered.

Well you know how a camera makes people look 10 pounds fatter? It makes cars seem 1.0" lower too.

I work for a car dealership and do all their online inventory for them. I take pictures of the cars and upload them to the website. You would be amazed what gets hidden in pictures even unintentionally.
On the other hand, I can hide a lot of damage by taking pictures at certain angles. Pictures never tell the real truth.
