AWE already has a downpipe...

Eurocode has a TEST PIPE or catalytic converter delete...
And please check the stickied thread...I heard it has tons of info already covered! And most of your questions have been answered there!

You will most certainly get a CEL unless you have REVO or APR Test pipe file which eliminates the CEL.

if you get a eurocode, you can talk to a tech (if you are good in with the dealerhsip) to have them recircut the censor to not have a CEL

CEL= check engine light.
I think a test pipe would make the exhaust a little to loud, people that have done a test pipe on the AWE exhaust end up taking it off cuz of the droning

I had 3 girls in my car last night and I asked them if there was too much noise in the back, they said no it sounded fine. Last time I was in my buddy's car he has a test pipe with AWE exhaust the back had a horrible droning noise!

I am getting the AWE without the testpipe next week, suppose to be fairly tame with out the test pipe, but I will let you know. I am going for something thats not too loud.

i see you made up your mind, between AWE and Stasis, what made you decide? price?

Funny story actually, I had decided on StaSis but then Matrix Integrated was extremely nice and hooked my up with another of their customers that had a brand new AWE exhaust for sale. He bought the exhaust for a new car that he ended up not buying. He needed to recoup some cost and I got it at a reduced price. Otherwise I probably would have gone with StaSis because the tips have an angle and StaSis and Audi already have a relationship. Other than that they were pretty much equal.
So in the end it was price, but not the AWE original price that was the final straw.

They'd have to install a resistor (CEL eliminator) to fool the O2 sensor. I doubt they'll do this, even for you Nico. [;)][:p]

AWE without downpipe (the test pipe would replace the cat which is before the downpipe); exhaust manifold, turbo, cat, downpipe, downpipe-back, muffler, tip.

The visual difference most will notice right away between the STaSIS and AWE exhausts are the difference in tips; STaSIS is slightly angled, AWE is non-angled.

When you remove the cat for a test(straight) pipe, the exhaust becomes pretty loud as the cat muffles the sound a bit (so when the cat is gone the exhaust is louder).
If you want your exhaust to sound mean and loud then you should probably remove the 2 resonators that come in most of the exhausts and just run the two mufflers provided instead (most systems come with 2 resonators and 2 mufflers).

I removed my stock resonator on my stock exhaust and have a testpipe. Car sounds metallic like an e46m3. I had a catback before and it is IMO a waste of money since I did not feel any gains or loss of power when i re-installed my stock exhaust.

So with your K04 setup, you had a full aftermarket cat-back (downpipe and downpipe-back) and you didn't notice any gain with it? Which system was it?

I still have the dp and dp-back. my exhaust was actually a mid-pipe exhaust made by vibrant, it was not cat-back. Bhvdr posted a while ago that an exhaust system actually decreases peak hp. stock exhaust is good for 2.0t and minimal gains of 1-3 hp (maybe) is not worth 1k and would not be felt too.

What is as funny or funnier is I think the same thing about AudiWxGuy and his intake is in the mail....... [drive]
Actually I will probably be taking a break, at least from the big stuff. I need to let my wifes head stop spinning. She was trying to keep track of my debit card. Silly woman....... I might be able to sneak an intake in the car somewhere in the next few months hahaha

Hmm, I respect Mike but disagree via AWE's findings;
