Alright so heres the issue...

Right now I'm a student at Hofstra University in Long Island and next semester me and a few friends are going to be moving into a house off campus.

Maybe some of you Long Islanders are familiar with the Hempstead area. Anyway, its DA HOOD. Students get mugged quite a bit and there seems to be crack dealers on most of the corners lol.

Anyway, our house is in Hempstead and were going to be keeping a few nice cars that might be attractive for thieves to break into (C6Z06, SRT8, extensively modified Audi, Lexus IS) And we are all a bit nervous about keeping our cars there.

Now heres the question, i heard theres practically nothing you can do to keep your wheels safe, EXCEPT for gorilla locks...Any of you know about these things? i hear they provide crazy security unlike any other wheel lock...

Heres the Website http://www.gorilla-auto.com/gorilla.locks , what size do i require to fit a BBS CK (19'' et 35 5x112)???? Thanks...any other recommendations as to keeping wheels safe..

i thought any type of wheel lock can be broken ..just with more time..if they are really going to want to steal ur wheels..theres nothing you could really do....
i personally am quite paranoid even though i park in the garage...so i have wheel locks + an alarm on top of the audi's alarm..which includes a tilt sensor..so if my car was ever jacked up.the alarm would go off...consider that perhaps?

edit: right i have RAD too for my BBS

Stick with RAD locks. Made in Germany by the folks that make the bolts FOR BBS!

For the BBS CK, you need RAD 2242.

Or if you really wanted to, you could replace all your lugs with locks, that way it takes them that much longer to get the wheels off, but that would be pretty spendy. You could also try to fence/gate your cars in and get a big dog (pitbull, doberman, etc.) to scare off would-be thieves.

lol..if you use locks on all ur lugs..not only is it SPENDY..its extremely time consuming..imagine when ur trying to take off your wheels .... you'd haveto try each bolt with each key...on each wheel...

Better than having your BBS CKs stolen, though...

I use H&R Euro Locks. They clamp on to your oem lug bolt, and I've only heard good things about them.

i have the perfect solution, don't move to "da hood"? lol, that and make sure your friends park behind you... :P nah ,i say go with a security system, some sort of wheel lock listed above, and install a bright light over where you guys are parking your cars... although it may not make such a huge difference, cars are less prone to be broken into etc if there's a lot of attraction

If they really want your wheels, they'll get them. Wheel locks are like anything else, they keep honest thieves honest. Anyone that has the access or knows how to get the tools that locksmiths use would have no problem with it, regardless of how many locks you put on each wheel. Just to play devil's advocate....if you do put a lock (or more than one) on each wheel, they may get all of the other lugs off & screw up your wheel, the bolt holes, the car (either accidentally or on purpose out of frustration).

Why are you contemplating moving to such a neighborhood?

If you can't park in a garage, get a motion light with a very bright bulb. Like a friggin flood light or something

any wheel lock is better than no wheel lock IMO

I would find a different place to live or stay where you are, but if you must move then I would get wheel locks and an alarm. The motion sensor floodlight is probably a good idea too.

haha for high rollers like you and your friends... couldn't have found a better area?? LOL

throw some chrome D's on them and they won't mess with you... then they'll think they're getting their crack from you guys indirectly haha.

Hire your own security guard to sit out there at nights LOL.
You should be ok, although if they want something bad enough your not gonna stop them

I had a car stolen from my driveway when i lived in Hicksville, 87 gti funny thing is my 98 jetta with many more mods was parked behind it and very close somehow they got the VERY loud GTI out, wheeled accross my neighbors lawn and was gone

THEN 2 years later the car showed up on VWvortex for sale completely revinned with pictures my old MOMO arrows and many other parts the car was completely rebuilt. got the law envolved MY uncle and there was nothing that could be done the car is now in Canada.

Sorry to go on but just example of what can happen Theives Suck AsS
