Just looking to do a k04-15 on a tip avant. Wondering if it is possible.

yeah but i think thats going to be as far as you can go. a more aggresive file such as pc-16, j31, or hammer will be like at the trans max. a ko4 would be fine though.

im pretty sure AudiRacerS4 is running a GT series turbo on a tip trans

that will work!

isent there a upgraded torque converter to hold more power, reliably? i remember stumbling upon somethng like that

Level 10 makes an upgraded valve body and tq converter but, I know the trans can hold power. The real question is for how long. I was wanting to do a hammer file on an 01.

i run a gt2871r on my tip trans but it actually puts less stress on the tranny then when i had my k04

It isn't the hp you have to worry about, it is the tq and how quickly that tq is produced.

It isn't the hp you have to worry about, it is the tq and how quickly that tq is produced.

exactly and that why K04's are harder on the tranny because the tq is instant

So I would need to do a different turbo then a k-series then?

01-05-2008, 01:48 PM
i had a K04 before i went 2871r and my tranny used to slip with the K04
