so i was on the highway and i see off in the distance a b7 s4.. i catch up to him, it was a silver cabrio. as im getting to him i was going about 65 -70 then he decides to speed up and he kept about a car on me until about 90 then i started to pass him and let off about a car ahead at around 115.. now i know i shouldnt have been going this fast but there was no one else on the road. he seem to be upset at my victory because he got a cocky attitude and kept trying to race me again. but i had to get off my exit.
let the bashing/flaming begin

street racing is illegal and dangerous.

I don't look down upon racing on the highway as much as sidestreets. There's a big difference.

I look down on it on any public road. You never know what you are going to encounter, animals, other drivers, damaged road surface...there are many things that can cause you to wreck.

all it takes is one mistake or miscalculation to ruin the rest of your life or someone else's life, keep the racing to the track its more way more fun and legal you don't have to worry about the man with the flashing lights finding you.

We've all seen the vids of a chipped 2.0T A4 run pretty close to an S4 sedan. The S4 walks away more at high speeds. However the S4 cabrio is 250lbs heavier than the S4 sedan.
Depending on conditions, cargo, passengers and assuming you are a better driver...I beleive this could have very well happened.
As for street racing, its not the greatest practice, however a strait open 3 lane highway is much safer than local streets. Audis are stable at speed and can handle 100+ all day.

Maybe he was pissed cuz some ahole came flying up behind him and was probably looking over at him. [down][down]
I don't call that a race.

I can definitely see a chipped and/or slightly modded a4 taking an s4 specifically if the s4's driver isn't as skilled as the a4's. I think this is where a lot of confusion comes into play.

im thinking he was not getting on it or let off. no way even with your mods you can pass an S4. At best you would keep up with him.

i would say that he prob did get close to the s4 cabrio. its not that fast and a chip, test pipe, ect could def make it close if not faster. plus the cabrio is prob less aerodynamic and chances are it was also an auto again making it slower.
for everyone who says that it was dangerous to do that on the highway, its pretty stupid to even say something like that. Our roads are engineered for a 90 mph speed limit with average cars. If you are a skilled driver and not too worried about the cops a short run is certainty not dangerous to yourself or any drivers around you. the speed limit is merely for an increase in fuel economy because everyone in america drives big suvs with terrible mileage.

yeah, i find it very hard to believe that a slightly modded a4 took an s4. i could say the same thing about the sti i was playing with they other night. but of course i know i am in an a4 and he is in an sti, enough said...

Maybe he got close but not for nothing I bet he was not racing. I had a 2.0T with AWE exhaust, Revo, Intake and it is no where near my S4. My S4 pulls all day long and when the speeds increase it becomes a beast. An S4 Cab does 0-60 in 5.7. got that from Audi S4 book that I have. My A4 with all those mods that i had would prob do any where from 5.9 to 6.3 and thats great conditions. Im tired of this bullshit. you could never know what the other person is doing when they are driving on the highway. how will you Know. You just wont. Unless that guy pulled down his window and said listen on the third beep we do a pull then i would say thats a race.
